Getting more and more pissed off watching news reports of Palarse, Liverpool and Chelski Women parading their trophies around, and no mention apart from a quick "Oh and by the way" comment about us. Life does fu*kin' exist outside the bloody Premier sodding League...🤦♂️😫
Behave ET🫵🏼 Brilliant for the Charlton fan base which has suddenly increased four fold since March but Winning the League 1 playoff doesn't compare to being Premier Champions in the Men's and Women's or as much as it pisses off many fans winning the FA cup for the first time. TBF the BBC national news showed Macca's goal in the sports round up.
One guy behind me was giving a running commentary and slagging off TC and our tactics but even when he was on our side of the pitch, he kept calling Tyreece by his number ! He genuinely didn't know his name. We have many plastic fans and just like the Premier days they will increase exponentially as we climb up the Pyramid to be London's number one team* in 2030.
*Friedman copies Bill Gates Philanthropic ways and gives multi billions to CAFC as he is overcome with love for Charlton Athletic ♥️
This has been a joyless club to support in recent years. We've had to suffer through shambolic seasons, watching crap players turn in half-arsed performances, while managers stood on the sidelines with their hands stuffed in their pockets.
No other group of fans has earned the right to enjoy that result more than us.
Three clean sheets in three play-off games is incredible. I think back to how often our GKs have been exposed in the past few years - constantly stopping one-on-ones or being tested from clear-cut chances. Now, they mostly just tidy up and claim crosses, because the team defends with everything.
I can't think of a group of players that I like more. Even on their off days, they all give 110%. That's always been the core identity of this club. If we've got players who do that, good things happen.
With Phil Chapple back in the building, and Andy Scott thrown out of it, who knows what we can do.
Still on a high after yesterday, despite falling off my bike half pissed on the way back from the pub. As has been said before, after the shite we have endured since we were relegated back into league 1, its really been a slog with no light at the end of the tunnel, but back in december (Northampton away, Wycombe home etc) we suddenly began to look as if there was a revival under way. We all knew after the abysmal start to the esason, we had a small mountain to climb but we crept into the play offs comfortably and even toyed with automatic promotion until our visit to Wrexham. But without looking like world beaters, we were competent across the play offs, and yesterday was the icing on a cake we've all been waiting for. We've got our Charlton back.
Thanks for posting. Watching that was the first time it’s really sunk in, and the emotions have come to the surface. So proud of the club, and so happy to have been there with my boys, like in 2019. ❤️ (PS Lucas’s eyes were half closed in the top pic because he’d just had operations on both corneas because he has kerataconus).
Send Lucas my thoughts @JamesSeed. As a fellow double cornea replacement'ee I can fully sympathise. I'm waiting more surgery on mine & have had to decline recent appointments as I wanted to be there yesterday.......eyes fully functioning !!
That was a tough watch, but I think the refs equipment malfunction helped us more that Orient. They didn’t seem quite as fluent after that. Nice to see all the squad, including some U21s out on the pitch afterwards - everyone included, that’s how you build a team.
Also, all the owners seemed to be there - let’s see if they’re hooked
It’s going to be an interesting summer.
Watched it last night and the stoppage took place as both teams made a couple of subs and the whole stoppage was 8 mins 40 seconds . So 11 mins suited us beautifully .
Just seen the odds for next season, we are joint bottom at 33-1. Get your money on now 😀
Staying up, promotion or beating Millwall?
nice treble !
Go up by beating Millwall in the play off final with the added bonus of getting to stay in Wembley Stadium an extra 3 hours after the match 'for our own safety'
I've just released we don't need to play in the EFL Trophy next year!
That was the biggest prize yesterday, Championship is where we belong , playing that tinpot shit the same comp as palace u21s can fuck right off forever . Im a football snob , keep me in the championship (or above)

Couldn't think of anything worse than having to go to Wembley with 40k of them about before and after.
Once again we get praised for the volume of our support. Maybe there were more genuine fans and not ‘hangers on’ that got tickets in the early phases? Certainly looks like the whole end was bouncing from that video!

Could have happened in 2010. Perhaps it's just as well Bailey sent his penalty into orbit.
Hi guys, first of all congrats to getting promoted the championship, i am a dunfermline fan so i have been keeping tabs on josh edwards, was just wondering how hes done this season and what are your thoughts on him
He’s my favourite current Charlton player. I think he’s better than most realise. Excellent positioning, reads the game well, brilliant with one-on-ones. Doesn’t get beaten often.
Dillon Phillips asked me for a selfie and we did a rendition of Twist and Shout. Nice Guy like so many of our Ex-players but it did bring back memories of the Dillon and Naby double act 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏿♂️
I was mistaken for a Palace Virgin when I had my Jacket done up so I decided to let it all hang out.
A little bemused at the slight snobbery against those who were there that are not considered true fans because they don't go to all or most matches. If even 10% of those who fit that description decide to start coming regularly then it will be a real bonus. I remember the same argument in 1998 but the average gates were boosted and that helped us when the tougher times followed. I also suspect quite a few there were returning 'fans' after the shambles of the last decade or so. Either way, what a day, what immense support ...
Yesterday was a looooong day: up at 5:15am, left home at 6 and by the time I'd dropped off my dad and then my grandson it was about 9:30pm when I got home.
If we had a sofa by us my grandson would have spent stoppage time hiding behind it; the poor lad was a nervous wreck and couldn't bear to watch when the ball was down our end. When we finally got back to Epping to get into the car he turned to me and Dad and said "thank you for the best day ever".
Onto the game ...
When we got the free kick I turned to my brother and we both said "Macca, far post". Oh well, we were half right!
That was probably a hard watch from a neutral perspective (it wasn't much easier for me!) but we did what we needed to do. Our defence was magnificent and never looked like conceding. Mannion hardly had anything to save because our defenders were getting in blocks and tackles, forcing Orient into shooting wide or high. The midfield may not have been too flash going forward but they were doing a job down back, typified by the skipper taking a ball into the mush in the latter stages.
The ref and his communication equipment failure leading to the lengthy stoppage: what a joke. Even if the ref's headset was buggered they should have had a back up plan in place so that play could have restarted immediately. The extended break may have helped us by halting whatever momentum Orient felt they had (in truth, not a lot) but it was pathetic and unneccessary.
It made a change to score a goal against Orient before 90 minutes ... maybe the O's gameplan was to build up enough of a lead so that we had too much to do in stoppage time to fight back. Tough luck Richie!
That's now four play-off final wins:
1987 Extra time of replay 1998 Penalties 2019 Final seconds of normal time 2025 First half winner
If we continue that trend the next play-off final we appear in will be won either in the first few seconds of the match or the authorities will just save everybody's time by awarding us the match beforehand.
What a fantastic day! Lucky to share the it with my son and some cricket pals, and the whole thing will live long in the memory. Huge credit to NJ and the players. The transformation in our fortunes has been astounding, and we can surely look forward to next season with some optimism. COYR.

Shame it didn't beat the L1 record.

Yes mate @ValleyGary
and he got a banner....massive white flag before kick off and song on 38 mins.

Went on my own, but met some lovely people before, during and after.
Anyone know why there are no interviews on CharltonTV? Did Sky stop the club from being involved in the day?
More chance of sewing up the Championship title by mid-March followed by winning the League Cup and capping it off by pocketing the FA Cup.

see you next season in the championship? Or see you next season ?
