It's a nice idea, but I think it's been discredited. Our sword comes from the Crest of the Corporation of London. It is St Paul's Sword as he is the patron saint of the city.ForeverAddickted said:

Just to add, the sword of St Paul isn't one that he used, but one that was supposedly used to murder him. I say supposedly, because there is no contemporaneous evidence of this, so it is possibly just a Christian re-write of history as they wanted St Paul to have martyr status.2
