  • Leaves the club in the same division he joined us in, fair enough, always be welcome back at The Valley
  • Good luck Chucks always enjoyed watching you and wish you every success in the future whatever that is Thanks for the memories
  • This season he's been playing at 70%. He looks like someone trying not to get injured
  • All the best Chuks, so pleased you have been part of our club folklore
  • Good luck to him, great watch on his day.

  • Shame he couldn't have just sneaked that one in at Wembley that would have been a terrific ending to his Charlton career. Still, it was a great occasion to finish on. Up until recently, it's always been exciting when he came on. Recently though it has felt like he's been struggling a bit and maybe a bit too desperate to be the goalscorer again at times. It's been fantastic having someone as skilled and committed as him in the team. I wish him all the best with the rest of his career.
  • Loved him and I wish him all the best.
At the end of next season I fully expect him to be an ever present for his new club.🙂
  • I think it is the skill of our off field team that enabled him to do as much as he did this season, and he leaves happy memories. We were fitter and more resilient this season so less injuries, this contributed massively to our promotion.
  • Played his part as well as his circumstances would allow and I think with the new medical and fitness team we got more out of him this season than last.
I was always glad to see him come on, he was always a good watch, looked dangerous and gave the opposition more than enough to worry about. If we can find someone even not quite as good as a fully functioning Chuks we'll have quite the player on our hands.
    All the best big man.
  • I'm pretty sure two wrong offside decisions, one v Millwall, prevented him from saving us from relegation from the Championship. Wising him the best and hoping he gets to do what it is he wants to do now.

A fair decision. His fitness cannot be relied upon, but he certainly tried to give it his all when he did play, as per the previously mentioned point that was only 70/80% of what others were doing... And he still looked like he'd do something.
  • Farewell raging bull.

  • At least one year too late. Maybe more?

But good luck Big Man. Thanks for the memories - even if some of them seem a bit warped by time, going by the comments on here.

At least this may now, finally, put this "debate" to bed.
  • Thanks Chuks. I enjoyed watching you play and it is fitting that your final game for us was Wembley. Whatever you do next, you are a smart bloke and will be successful I'm sure.

Chukwuemeka Ademola Amachi Aneke time at CAFC has finally come to an end. After 138 apps, 27 goals, over two spells the big man's career is over at Charlton.

I can remember Chuks scoring after 5 minutes from the bench on his home debut but until I checked I didn't realize that was his only goal in 20 apps in 19/20 season.

The snap shot at Wembley which forced a corner was his final cameo. A happy ending with a play off winning medal as homes under the hammer appear to be his side line and interest.

We enjoy a house analogy on CL and our bench warmer is now detached.

    Stay healthy Chuks.

Wrexham love a +30yr old striker with a big name. Maybe he goes there.

Kevin Mulholland the head of Medical and Sports science at Wrexham has just heard the news that Chuks Aneke is on his way 😱!!!

Late October - Godden’s struggling to repeat his league one heroics in the Championship, TC isn’t getting much joy out of championship defenders and we’ve just lost a Saturday Tuesday home combo at the valley to Oxford and Sheff Wed respectively

Poster X “I think we should’ve kept Aneke, at least he might’ve given them something to think about when we were only 1-0 down chasing the game”
  • Absolutely the right decision for everyone.

All the best for the future and thanks for everything Chuks.

Slightly OTT.  He’s been an unreliable player in some of our worst ever seasons .  One good year and 5 where he’s not done much.  I don’t doubt he’s a lovely bloke and has huge talent , which he sadly hasn’t been able to fulfil- not his fault but true.
Not at all. He will be remembered at the club for far longer than many others.

We all loved it when he came on in games as a sub, hoping for everything but never knowing quite what would happen.

Despite his form and injuries, he will be discussed more than innumerable others who have gone through our books.

Part of CAFC folklore? No doubt.
Agreed, you could argue the case that he became the definition of the 'finisher' role something that having had 7 subs on the bench and able to bring on 5 his role became that of someone you don't start but specifically bring on to finish the game.

Nobody before him had that role at the club and it might not be seen ever again but i'm sure he'll be remembered as a finisher and as our first one too.
