Well it's been a bit of a steep learning curve for me but I'm very excited to announce the arrival of a brand new metal detecting community website I have built from scratch with the help of the AI platform (Replit).

    I wasn't aware that was a thing, I love the BBC comedy about the hobby though.

    I’ve always fancied it but I’m sure it would just eat your time so never followed up my interest.

    Bought a metal detector 5 years ago and never used it but just retired so definitely interested. When I was a kid, my dad made a metal detector and on the 2nd occasion we went out with it, we found a roman coin.

    My two big regrets about not living in England is not being able to go to the Valley and not being able to start up metal detecting. LOVE English history and watch YouTube videos all the time quite enjoy : @holzhammersagas. He cuts away from his detecting to talk in detail about the item he’s found.

    Buy one anyway. You might uncover some interesting early colonial stuff. It’s more about the process and getting out of the house. Fresh air, exercise and being in nature.

    Wouldn’t call myself an enthusiast but my adult son has had one for years and I have been out a few times with him and my grandsons have one and I have been out with them. 

    Great fun when you are doing it but don’t think I could make it a hobby

    Apparently it’s quite profitable if you have an underwater detector and hoover where yachts moor or on beaches/sea where very rich people hang out. Im
