    Same subject, different area.
There used to be a cab office by Catford Bridge train station, does anybody know if it is still there, but also know of the name and the number.
Hither Green station, is there a cab office there as well?  Likewise, a name and number will be appreciated.

The one at Catford Bridge was called "Broms" - and was only to be used in absolute emergencies. You'd get high just walking into the office and breathing in the air. A quick look on Google Maps suggests it's no longer there.

At Hither Green there was Sure Cars in Springbank Road, opposite where the buses terminated. Or else there was DJs, which was the other side of the tracks by the Station pub. No idea if either of those are still going, to be honest, but I doubt it.

Edit: Just found these, but no idea if any good. https://lewishamtaxis.site/

I normally use DataCars - https://www.datacars.com/ - but they have a habit of fucking you about. And when you ring them to complain you get put through to some call centre in the Phillipines and although they are very nice and polite, they still can't tell you where your cab is!

Amazingly Sure Cars still exist, however they only operate Airport runs now.
A real shame, because they were very very successful for  many years.
My family first started using them in the late 60’s.

Broms was indeed for emergencies only. If you were in a rush forget it. There was one around the corner on rushey green by the bike shop that always had queues of cars

Never had said problem in Orpington, multiple cabs waiting to take me back to Catford, then when I moved to Bromley.
Only a few times that I slept through Shortlands ;)

If you’re in the Gillingham area and the driver is called Macauley, I would give it a swerve if I was you.

Only been there once and I must disregard the positive cost effective reputation that surrounds it. Its not £2.50 for a pint...its £3.20 for a pint.

Was in their the other day Carlsberg was £2.75...And with my bother drinking a pint of Kroonenberg with lime and my sister orange juice and soda (tall glass) total bill was £8.80. i would say thats cheap.

Sure proper job which i usually drink is less that £2.50. So it is.
