For other academy players and youngsters such as Kaheim, I'm certain TC's previous summer transformation will be on there minds and discussed with the fitness/health team at the club about how they can do something similar.
Spoke to TC about this at the beginning of last season. I think it was he who committed to building his upper body strength with the support of his brother over last summer (and sure did it pay off) but as with any of these developments how much self motivation or belief will a Dixon vs TC have etc? Dixon is with the Jamaica squad and is starting games (and keeping more senior pros out of the first team) so may believe his attributes are sufficient to compete in the men’s game already. That may change if he is getting knocked off the ball time and time again if he gets minutes for us in the Championship but equally he could be one of those players who pops up at the right time in the right space and gets us some important goals in which case the other aspects are less important. He definitely appears to have the swagger for a lad so young which is great to see.
I’d expect Kanu, Mitchell and Asiimwe to probably go out on loan. Though I think Mitchell and Asiimwe could put their names forward in pre-season to be involved in our squad instead
Dixon, Mbick, Enslin, Fullah will be kept around and might get non-league loans throughout the season. With 9 subs i think they could get opportunities off the bench though
Karoy will be as involved as he was this season, won’t be going anywhere
Pretty sure I read on here that the club are moving away from non-league loans unless the team are fully professional as they feel that they actually hamper players development. Obviously the NL is getting more and more professional but it's hard to find teams who play in a similar style too
Nearly all NL clubs are fully professional. And non league loans are very handy for players that you might still need in an emergency, as you can still recall them.
Realistically though, the sort of player we'd be happy sending to the NL this season aren't going to be good enough for the Championship anyway.
Does the window shut for championship and below … I know it will mean we can’t buy Haaland but we can wait a week I suppose
yes it's just invented for Sky Sports to show the countdown timer again
(well actually its because the window can only be open so many days - so they decided to open it earlier for the stupid cash rich club world cup teams before they jet off for a flip flop kick around in the park - which don't make sense because it then opens again on the 16th June!)
Being in the championship, winning the ball back is going to be a lot more difficult than it was in league 1. Karoy is one of our best at winning the ball back, he should definitely be involved in the first team
Problem with Anderson is that loans are usually for players to get game time or help develop ready for professional football. Anderson is blessed with probably being one of the most physical and fit 20 year olds with a lot of first team exposure and doesn’t fit into either category. What he lacks is in the technical side of the game I’m not sure a loan would turn him into an iniesta. Personally would keep him because if you need to see a game out or hold on for a point last 20 which we will need to see out a lot more in the championship there’s no midfielder at the club more suited to that than Anderson

Basically what I said in a post before totally agree with it all apart from technique,no one expects him to be iniesta that's a stretch lol but he is young and being in a team where he is a starter for the majority of the season would see him improve on his weakest aspects of the game, don't get me wrong if he starts getting more minutes with us and improves forcing his way in then all the better just that younger players need the game time regardless of fitness levels.

He would also run through a brick wall for this club and manager. Definitely a player you want in the squad.
Anderson has played 60+ games in league one and has also played for his country, we aren't going to loan him out.
He's also only played 4000 minutes in those two seasons, and playing for your country isn't always a good measuring stick. Dixon plays all the time and he can't get near our starting XI, and that won't change at a higher level.
He's a job doer, no one would deny that, but we need quality on the bench and in the starting XI. One big problem we had this season was when TC or Small were quiet, the goals/attacking play dried up. Someone like Carey may fix that, more options like that would be useful as opposed to a player that is good for closing down. As things stand Docherty is already doing that job. Would be nice to bring someone in who has an engine and can play a bit, we don't really have anyone like that at present.
Worth remembering there are 9 on the bench in the Championship not 7. For that reason alone I am expecting youth to stick around and be on the bench in a bit of a rotation
what is the point of the window closing for however long it is???
Fifa rules state a transfer window cannot last more than 16 weeks in a calendar year, hence the split this summer.
Would have been better to have just changed the rules then. I mean, it's their made up rules anyway. They want a stupid competition after 10 months of hard graft from the players then they need to relax their "rules". Or just get rid of the Club World Cup.
I might well be in the minority, but I see Karoy having a big season for us.
His development since last summer is more than impressive and that's with limited minutes on the pitch. The fact he came on at Wembley and tried that lovely play which Godden nearly scored from shows his confidence is also growing.
Karoy got some games over the line for us, especially late in the season and playoffs. I’d be surprised and disappointed if he was loaned out.
With a 20 man matchday squad, I can't see Jones having his 22 man squad, I think it will be closer to 25.
Currently we have AMB, Mannion Ramsay, A.Mitchell, Jones, Gillesphey, Edwards Docherty, Coventry, Anderson, Carey, Taylor, Berry Campbell, Godden, Leaburn, Ahadme
You'd expect a few from Kanu, Z.Mitchell, Enslin, Mbick, Dixon, Mwamba, Asiimwe to be held onto and used on the bench, and obviously some signings.
I think to make a good fist of it we need to sign at least 10 more, that way most of the youth can go on loan and we can sell some of the current squad to facilitate that (Ahadme, Taylor, AMB and possibly A.Mitchell)
You'd then end up with 23 properly senior players, and a couple of the youth stepping up into the first team squad on a regular basis
He's the sort of player who may be able to step up or not next season, but we'll find out by using him. He's at the age where he's improving, so he hasn't reached his ceiling yet.
Loaning out Karoy is a laughable suggestion, key part of how we hold onto games and excellent off the bench, suspect he'd be in every matchday squad next year providing he stays fit

They did relax their rules, why do you think there's just been a 10 day window?
