Trent Alexander-Arnold played 354 times for Liverpool in all competitions by the age of 26 and he has spent 20 years of his life at Liverpool FC. Moving on to Spain and Real Madrid for a different life style and experience is understandable.
A unique player who was the assist king in Scouser land with 92 and 23 goals in those 354 games.
The best right back in the World ? No, because of his defensive short comings where out of possession he can look lost but the best Quarter-back for sure with his wand of a right foot.
Booed by some Liverpool fans who only see footballers as commodities who they will worship until they are discarded for the next player to worship. That isn't unique to the Reds that is every club who's fans just like a cult, never want a player to leave while they are still producing.
Trent seems a bright lad who has surely gone to the best club for his awesome passing range with the pace and skill set of Mbappe and Vinicius Junior to assist.
Real Madrid C. F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold for the next six seasons, from 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2031.
Does this mean TAA will be eligible for their CWC?

Yes they've reportedly agreed to pay Liverpool €10m so he can sign for them now and play in the CWC.
Pretty crazy to pay that just to sign him a month earlier but when you see the winners of the CWC will get about €100m it could end up a smart investment.

It seems you can take the boy out of Liverpool...
Was that a typo?🤓
That sentence looks weird and messy 🤔
"That isn't unique to the reds, that is every club who's fans like a Cult hero and never want that player to leave while they are still producing."
I think some Scousers will think Cult isn't quite the word they would use !
I was fortunate to be out on Saturday night, so missed most of the England game.
In the ten minutes or so that I did watch, the commentator didn’t once say “Alexander-Arnold”. He did, however, refer to him as “Trent” about 5 or 6 times though. I can’t explain why this gets my goat so much, but it really fucking does.

When did quarter back become a position in association football?

Just seen a video of his unveiling at Madrid. He spoke in fluent Spanish!
Officially announced he was leaving Liverpool 2 months ago but has been learning Spanish for nearly 2 years.
How much did he say though?
I mean I think he's known he's going for a while, but was it not just a case of leaning "I'm very pleased to be signing for this great club, can't wait to get started, hope we win loads" etc?

He spoke for over a minute, so that's quite a lot of words. He didn't just rock up and say Hala Madrid.
But either way it's pretty clear he's known he was going for a long time. As you can imagine Liverpool fans have taken it really well.........

I do find it pretty funny they were saying 'look at that celebration, it means more, he's staying' etc when he was heading off home to his Spanish lesson.

With that in mind, various reports have now confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will wear No.12 for his new club this coming season, with the defender also set to have his name, Trent, on the back of his shirt rather than his surname."

Baffles me why players get worried about what number shirt they wear. If I'd just signed for Real Madrid, I wouldn't give a toss what number I wore and they could put "Fat C*nt" on the back of the shirt (which they probably would) for all I cared.
Could you imagine the likes of Brian Clough entertaining players who weren't happy with the number they were given?

Absolutely apropos of nothing, and not comparing him to anyone, but...
Pele Eusebio Ronaldo etc.
There's a long tradition of players with long-winded surnames being known by nicknames or first names (particularly in Iberia and the Iberian diaspora world).
In the modern world of ridiculously expensive replica football kit it may even be the responsible, even moral, thing to do (reducing the costs to fans as it does (even if only accidentally).
Liverpool fans would lose their shit on their own in a room, entitled fanbase
I do understand why they're annoyed though. From what i've seen most fans have no issue with him leaving, it's how he's gone about it. Clearly had a plan all along to leave, he signed a 4 year contract instead of the 6 that was originally offered so he'd still be in his prime when it ran out, and he's been learning Spanish for almost 2 years whilst stringing the club along in contract discussions when he had no intention of signing. And all this from a local lad and Liverpool fan who was the clubs vice-captain.

Trent Alexander-Arnold picks iconic Real Madrid number and will sport new name on back
"Alexander-Arnold wore the same No.66 throughout his time at Anfield, however, he is unable to wear that same number in Spain.
That's because La Liga rules state that first-team players must wear a shirt number between one and 25, with Nos. 13 and 25 reserved specifically for goalkeepers.
With that in mind, various reports have now confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will wear No.12 for his new club this coming season, with the defender also set to have his name, Trent, on the back of his shirt rather than his surname."

I'd quite like them to keep doing it to Liverpool every season, and watch the meltdown.
