I see they have knocked down the Public Toilets and replaced them with a cafe , no public toilet in woolwich that i can think of ? . I think the shop owners will need to stock up on a few gallons of disinfectant to keep their door ways clean.
Good watch that @Gribbo - spent most weekends round there pre-match as my family lived nearby and then lived in Royal Arsenal myself for a few years before moving up to Yorkshire (near Leeds, unlike @leedsaddick). Amazing the things you walk past everyday and know nothing about.

I'm confused. I remember Kent Walton introducing the wrestling from Catford Town hall, Lewisham ... or was it Lewisham Town Hall, Catford?
According to AI, when I asked if there was a Catford Town Hall ...
Yes, there is a Catford Town Hall, but it is now known as Lewisham Town Hall. The original Catford Town Hall, built in 1875, was replaced by the current Lewisham Town Hall in 1968. The current building includes a "Civic Suite" and is located on Catford Road.It also houses a library and training rooms.

Yes, I also remember it as both.
Also, Greenwich Town Hall is on Wellington Street in Woolwich. Which I mainly knew as Woolwich Town hall. My son was registered there in the mid '80s. I'll have to check his birth cert to see what it says.
(I also saw the Hair Bear Bunch there live in about '74/75 - touch me 👊).
One of the many areas in Woolwich with extensive planning permission but no apparent urgency from the developer or the council to build anything.
I’ve said before but once everything planned is built, Woolwich will be really nice.
This is what needs to end. Planning permission needs to be subject to a building timeline agreed and, if not met, developer forfeits a fine and ultimately a CPO of the land. Some of these developers have been locking up land for decades now.

You’d think that CPO would help, but iirc the Woolwich exchange site was CPO’d and there’s still delay after delay. A lot of the planning permission haven’t had a single brick laid in 15-20 years. The government has talked about stopping empty sites going to waste and get us building, nowhere is there more of an example of this than Woolwich.
The fact that the council had to pay for the station at Woolwich to be built on the Lizzie, says to me that TFL should be made to pay for another entrance to be opened up at the Burrage Road end.

This was the Lewisham/Catford Town hall Building I remember.
I sung in a school choir there in about 1975.
Pretty sure the concert hall is still inside the building.
The new Lewisham Town Hall/Civic Centre is now behind, on the South Circular, going towards Catford Bridge.
