Yeah they were saying about Will Power being replaced by Malukas during the race yesterday - I need to watch back the last two NXT races, but Hauger is making a mockery of the American Feeder Series, and is proving to any youngster coming through, that its worth going via. the FIA / F1 hopeful route first, and using Indy as a backup plan still.
Thankfully St. Louis is one of the rare tracks this season (?) which wont be on at a suitable time, even then it annoyingly clashed with Montreal - I didn't even realise that IndyCar had night races until I watched this one.
@NorthStandDan, understanding strategy outside of F1 / F2 is something I definitely need to get my head around. I certainly struggle to follow it as easily, although I get that IndyCar pretty much copy F1 with the requirement to run two types of tyre... But feel that FOX / IndyCar could provide better Graphics to explain that, as like the other night, you're left with Ilott as the leader with 10-laps to go, and have no idea if he stands a chance of winning or not.
Yeah really felt for Newgarden, not a fan of Penske Racing (Who ended up having a disaster of a race with all three drivers), but he was in complete control of the race and ended up out of the race, due to no fault of his own - Credit as well to one of the Marshals who was over to the car and down on his knees talking to Josef within seconds of the incident as well.
I watched the full race back this evening, due to how late it was on last night, and Ovals are really beginning to grow on me for the exciting racing that they generate - Really hoped that Callum Ilott would hold on and some how grab a bit of an underdog win when the strategy seemed to briefly fall in his favour.
I love a bit of oval racing. It’s a shame there is actually so little of them left on the Indycar calendar these days. Once you get into it and understand the nuances and strategy it becomes so much more than “driving around in circles”!
Yes, kudos to the Marshall who was straight over the pit wall and checking on Newgarden. Very brave to leap onto an effectively still live track with so much debris. Maybe thinking back to the Zanardi crash all those years back and realising ever second could count.
Yeah, although it looks boring, oval racing is great. I used to go to Rockingham near Corby when it first opened to watch the European Nascar racing, and also the CART series, which was basically a series split from Indy Cars.
Even the road course on the infield at Rockingham produced great racing for BTCC and their support package. Shame it's now a storage facility for Cinch now.

Yeah, real shame it was a fantastic facility but the marketing of it was awful.
My mate lives nearby in Wellingborough and when I spoke to him he'd never heard of it.
