Been a busy week one way or another, Reading dog Tuesday and Wednesday before briefly doing a meet and greet with the parents at sports days on Wednesday and Thursday which due to the heat was restricted to no touching the dogs and we were gone in ten minutes back to the car and home.
A bit cooler today so we met up with the SEN children At forest school for 30 minutes before the children requested the dogs appear in their school photos.
This delightful young lady asked for photo after the recent sponsored walk in the school field and told us that she has walked with our dogs every year since joining the school in year one, now in year five we decided to honour her achievement by putting this photo onto canvas, she has been disabled since birth and walks with difficulty, but is never seen without a smile and kindly word for the dogs when she sees them.
We bought an extra large professional dog bath to grow vegetables in , because as you can see it’s not fit for purpose but handy for growing tomatoes in😂
I’ve just realised I haven’t updated those interested about my Bodie - well mid May he went for his 2nd check up - I had to leave him at the animal hospital in Basildon, so to pass the time I found a nice bar in Basildon (yes, one does exist !!!) and sat in the sun having a couple of pints
Picked Bodie back up mid afternoon, and all was good - he was good to go, and could go off lead - cue huge tears from me (of joy) and the French lady who did the operation and I had a massive hug - she was tearful as well - it was a wonderful thing to be told
They had to sedate Bodie to do the scans etc, so he was very drowsy on the way home
Next day Lady Flash and I took Bodie and his brother Buster to Horton Kirby for Bodie’s first walk off lead since breaking his front legs
I picked him up from the back of our Land Rover and put him down - no lead - he (I swear) looked at me as if to say ‘what, I can run around with my brother’ - yes Bodie you can, and he was off like an Exocet missile
Lady Flash and I cried tears of joy, to see him back running around - things looked so bleak back when it happened

Wonderful news Lordy. A man's best friend and all that.
Out walking Stan at half 5 this morning so he didn’t spontaneously combust.
Very sensible. I did the same yesterday morning and my wife this morning. Really annoys me when I see people walking their dogs in the heat of the day.

Totally agree - my 2 Springers love the water, so if it’s hot, I always go where is a river so they stay cool - walked my boys at 8am this morning, and they were mostly in the river at Horton Kirby

Out before 7 this morning, included a walk through the woods where it’s a lot cooler.
Vic is now seven months old. Developing into quite a handsome boy, even if he does need a bath and a brush!
That's a lovely dog.
Thanks! He had his Summer cut done a few days ago. Body and puzzle cut very short and the fur on his legs cut shorter. The style is called jacket and pants. I didn’t realise there were so many cuts for the poodle!

you walk your wife?!
Lol. But I do want to know why @SuedeAdidas was walking my 94 year old Dad at 5.30am this morning?

He’s the only person I can keep up with these days.
My Border Collie, Gilbert(14) and struggling with arthritis. He has a monthly labrella injection plus a ketomine injection, not convinced they do much other than lower my bank balance.
Wondering if a dog push chair is worth thinking about? Does anyone use one or have recommendations?

We considered one but as we have a small Border Terrier opted for a back pack type thing that she can sit in and one of us can carry her when walking gets too much for her. She has arthritis and a heart murmur and on vet advice we have to minimize her walking time. Not practical for a Border Collie though. Have seen many people use push chairs for their dogs, a great idea, gets both of you out and about.
Some of you will have seen pictures of my eldest cat here before. I'm devastated to say that I had to have him put to sleep this afternoon after he was run over this morning. Words can't convey how much of a hole this has created inside me. RIP to the best cat who ever lived ❤️

How long do you put the dog in the washing machine for?
