Some odd comments there about the relative size of Orient and us , which I will ignore.
What IS true is that potential signings won't see us as an established Championship club, so we may struggle to sign players if an established Championship team is interested, even weaker ones like Preston and QPR.
I genuinely think that Orient fans got a bit carried away with the very decent football that Wellens got them playing and completely forgot that in the end it’s actually wining that matters. There’s not one of them that wouldn’t have swapped places with us at the end of 90 minutes regardless of the performance. All very ungracious and bitter and I really hope that Wembley was the apex of their revival and they drop back into the pack. They’re losing their three best players and I’m glad.

At Baker Street station, there were some orient supporters. It was the only place I saw them. There were a few Sunderland supporters on the platform opposite, standing quietly nursing very sore heads. A small group of orient supporters started chanting w ⚓️, w ⚓️ and making gestures at them.
i think orient fans are just bitter at loosing and instead of mocking Sunderland supporters, maybe they should be as gracious in defeat as them!

If we were to sign Offiah, L.Thompson & Olafe. How would we think our squad is looking after those 3?
Light , would want at least 4-5 more on top of that at least . Don't want to be relying on u21s to plug gaps
Cawley said in the Podcast Friday we were only looking to bring in 6/7 signings 1 of which included Carey. Which means we’re probably only looking at a GK LCB RWB LWB CM/CAM ST and that’s it and will rely on a lot of current team to be able to do jobs as squad players next year

Correct. There will be a budget of £x for NJ to spend, not a maximum or minimum number of players - only Jones can decide who and how many based on said budget.
I would be stunned if we only brought in 7 including Carey. The loanees went back. We’ve lost Small, let go of Watson and Aneke, all of them were regular players in the squad. Hylton has retired, Ahadme isn’t good enough, there will be others deemed so too.
Throwing youngsters in to make up the numbers won’t cut it nor will it allow us to be as competitive as they (and Jones) will want us to be.
I fully anticipate by the end of the window we would have signed 10 players, with or without including Carey.
As a minimum: - Goalkeeper - 2 right sided players to replace Small and Watson (yes I know Small was/is a left back, but he won’t be going forward nor was he used that way) - Another central defender - Another left back/left wing back to compete with Edwards - Another winger - Another central midfielder - Carey - 2 strikers
Am absolutely not disagreeing with you on what we need, but I just don't see us signing 10 players this window. All the language from the club is about quality not quantity. I think it'll be 7 this window and then maybe 1 - 2 in January.
I am really hopeful that the club are shopping in the right markets with the names being rumoured though. They would be the exact players I think we should be going for.

I kinda agree with you re potential signings. But it could be said that we are an attractive stepping stone for players from teams like orient and Stockport who've done the business in league one, but a more established team in the Championship is less likely to take a punt on. If the lad from orient is good enough he has a great season with us next year then hes really in the shop window. Staying at orient or moving to Huddersfield definitely shouldn't be on his radar. Of course a more established Championship team may come in for him. But then its about game time, as well as money obviously. Im sure we'd offer a very good wage either way.
A 5 signings target sounds about right to me, I don’t think we need more than that, but however many we do sign, the sooner the better. We saw last season that you need a core starting eleven that know each other and how they play. Bringing new players in is all well and good but it puts the team back to being a bunch of strangers again. Only finding that core eleven in December isn’t really an option this coming season. We need to be looking to pick up points from the start and to keep it going. We may not win or draw every game but that has to be the aim.
Crazy. I think people underestimate the quality of the Championship.
And I think people underestimate the quality we have within our squad. It may well be in for a rude awakening when the season starts but with a little strengthening it will adapt and overcome.

The squad is small (at least 5 of those above will also be sold/loaned out) and desperately short of quality at championship level - if we went into the season as is (we obviously won’t), we’d set a record for fewest points in a championship season.
Those 6 forwards will struggle in the championship, Godden has the best chance of survival.
I agree. Godden & Leaburn (when FULLY fit) are the only two strikers we have who can compete in the Championship. Imo we need at least 2 more out & out strikers....3 would be ideal.
Hopefully all their best players leave and they return to their rightful place in league two.
Well, even at Orient you have people living in cloud cuckoo land. Galbraith will go to whoever pays him enough and for how long, he'd be a mug if he didn't. I would imagine, the reference to 'vile behaviour' is selling them REG who gave away the free kick for us to score. If I were this poster, I'd worry about what loans Orient could bring in to replace half the side that lost at Wembley and have since returned to their parent clubs.

Oh dear poor old Leyton 🥱 Orient really don't like us do they after Wembley and how we didn't let them beat us, now apparently we are a smaller club than them into the bargain...
But last year's Leyton Orient are Brazil 1970 reincarnated don't you know. It's outrageous that we employed tactics to nulify their strengths, shouldn't be allowed. The game should be replayed under netball no contact rules.
