The one time Bad Company and ex Mott the Hoople guitarist and song writer has passed aged 81
I m o an underrated musician, his power chords were essential to the sound and success of Bad Company, a well respected band of the 1970s and early 80s

    RIP. I really loved Mott when I was a teen. Then later Bad Company.

    I was a big Mott the Hoople fan back in the day, so very sad news for me in particular. RIP.

    When I was at school there was an offer in the Record Mirror for discounted albums, about half a dozen of us sent off our postal orders and SAE, with our varied list of chosen "pop" albums. Three weeks later we ALL  got The Hoople by Mott (with the exception of some poor bugger who said "Rock" and instead got a Jethro Tull album!). It was a blumming good LP too, so Im still "Rolling away the Stone,".

    Me too, and still follow Ian Hunter's work. Was lucky enough to see both Mott reunion concerts with the 2009 shows in Hammersmith (featuring Mick R) my favourite.
