Championship

Well let’s start it. Was a great day. Let’s look forward.
whats needed. Goalkeeper- Mannion, possible.
defenders- the back three are definitely good enough.
Wing backs- Edward’s yes, Small all the skills but needs to be finished product.
Midfield- Coventry and Doherty are yes. But to progress need a creative player.
Forwards- Godden, yes another season. Leaburn needs to demonstrate fitness and attitude.  Campbell, he could be a Premier League player or not progress, I have no idea.
So not a bad squad

  • Think this has already been started elsewhere
  • Whoops, how do you delete
  • Shall we just make this the general Championship 25/26 thread?
  • Let’s wait till the season starts, we’ve already got the transfer one on the go
  • The fixture list looks a bit scary to be honest, hope the ownership step up or we might be having our arse kicked week in week out. Just need some solid recruitment to back up who we have.
  • We know if we end up having a good August, we will deffo be going down.

We have had five seasons in the third division, we'll do bloody well to survive comfortably.

To me, it didn’t/doesn’t look scary at all. It looks like 23 other teams we can go out and beat. As fans, I think we’ve got to bring our A game of support, something that definitely made the difference last time we were promoted up until the injuries starting piling up to the point where a 16 year old lad got a game far too soon, and then lockdown stopped all support and the rest is history.

It was horrible to watch Chartlon come so close, yet so far, right up until the last minute, hamstrung by no fans in the stadiums creating an atmosphere. I felt helpless and not connected to the club during this time (football was not he only thing that suffered of course).

My opinion is that you make your own luck, and the changes and momentum we have at the moment are helping us to be positive on and off the pitch, creating our own 'luck'.
