Denis Villeneuve announced to direct the next Bond movie , that's an interesting choice.

Let’s hope it’s not as dull as the Dune films .
  • I loved the Dune films.
  • 28 Years Later completely delivered for me, the world building, the depth, the performances, the cinematography, all bang on, and the ending, well, it's going to be a ride

Agreed, thought 28 Years Later was outstanding.

Did think the ending was a bit odd and out of place though.

I hope he gives it some Sicario vibes.

His best film by a million miles . I absolutely love that movie . The set piece on the Mexican border is one of my favourite scenes of all time .
  • I loved the Dune films.
They looked great but I fell asleep in the cinema in the middle of the first one . Just not my thing I guess.

I turned it off the first time I tried to watch it. Found it incredibly dull.
But loved it when I watched it this week.
Suppose you just have to be in the right frame of mind lol
  • I watched 'Nope' last night.
Do yourselves a favour and listen to the title.
    WALOOS!!!!!
  • The Gorge - Quite like the idea of this one, and the leads are both pretty good which makes it perfectly watchable. But it really is a B-movie and rather silly.

Mickey 17 - Bong Joon Ho has made some utterly brilliant movies - Memories of Murder is one of my all time favourites, and The Host is up there - but this, despite having a great concept and excellent lead in Robert Pattinson, is a big miss. Like most of his movies, this is an allegorical tale of class as much as high concept sci-fi, and like Snowpiercer, the more outlandish stuff gets in the way and is a bit too slapstick for my taste.

Final Destination - more of the same, and it's good fun. They come up with some barmy ways to kill people and I love the creativity of it all.

Latest final destination, could not get into it at all. I know its going to be predictable but i didn't really rate this one. The kills feel like they are trying to go overboard and even try to not be as predictable, however it is. 4.5/10 not for me, i've enjoyed the rest of the series

The Gorge - It wont be for everyone, i enjoyed it. Something different, both the lead actors are good and it goes a bit crazy, not too serious 7/10
  • Watched 28 year later last night, loved it up until the ending. What was that all about? Completely bizzare.

We’ll find out when they make 28 Centuries later . Sadly we won’t be around to find out !
  • Is the 'Formula One' film any good?

The trailer at the cinema made it seem like a glorified advert for the various sponsors.

I think it depends on how much of a nerd of the sport you are really. I'm tempted to see it anyway for some big dumb popcorn fun and the racing scenes do look very well done

Never watched Dune. But 'Arrival was pretty decent and 'Sicario excellent
  • Yeah, not seen F1 yet, but interested to hear people’s opinions on it?

I suspect the more you like F1 the more you issues you'll have with it. Like jazz players watching Whiplash who just couldn't suspend their disbelief.
  • 28 Years later, enjoyed it overall but maybe a bit arty farty for my limited intellect. Give me a simple apocalyptic film with peril and misery I'm all over it. This had concepts which tickled me more than impressed,  but as said could be me.

Best way it’s been described, is that those kids (Jimmy is the lad who runs at the start in the flash back) have no culture apart from Power Rangers and Savile from 2002, culture stopped when Rage spread; so they’ve lived on VHS dreams for all those years, and that’s type of Power Rangers fighting is the way they know. The next film is about Evil, and the third of this set is about Redemption
