Cawley mentioned on his podcast he’s heard (but not 100% confirmed) the players are back in training on 7th July.

It’ll be similar for other clubs, so it should mean players start to make decisions on who they sign for so they get a full preseason.
I think that's later than most. Sheff wed went back yesterday I believe.

I would imagine most are starting pre-season next week.
Agree, 7th July only leaves 5 days till the first pre season game with Dartford...

Hardly qualifies as a game to be honest. Players won’t be going above a snails pace in that game with very few if any first team players.

Don't forget what happened last year with Leaburn...
  • I'm sure they'll be in for testing before then too, likely the back end of next week. I hope the Jamaican boys get an extra week off but I doubt they will. Anderson certainly didn't last year

We played 3 weeks longer than everyone essentially. Players need their rest
Exactly, us and Sheffield United will be the last teams in the EFL to start pre-season. We went on late due to play offs, but unlike other play off final teams we are now in the championship, so we also have a week extra vs Orient, Wimbledon and Walsall.

I believe Orient started today, so you’d expect us to be a week later. Usually the first day or 2 is just testing so that might be late next week before starting properly on the 7th

I'm sure Dr Will Abbott will have the players fit for the season start. Perhaps he knows something we don't.
I think he knows a lot we don’t!

They might need the extra week to pass the test 🍁

Alex Mitchell will also have Zach Mitchell in front of him as well
    I doubt it .

  • I think Mitchell will be very quickly found out in the Championship, he was barely world beating in League 1. Poor on the ball, poor pace, and isn't enough of a proper destroyer to compensate for that from what I've seen anyway.
From what I've seen, Mitchell is generally as good as the defenders around him.

He looks good with good consistant defenders next to him, but they need to be on their game.

If others are off form, Mitchell tends to struggle also.

Exactly, in a world of wearables and connect devices, they’ll Know already what peoples numbers

I would have made the exact same joke if they were Dutch.

Famewo is the type of centre half we need - be happy with that - power and mobility to complement what we have
Excellent! We should restrict signings to former players.

Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu next, please. Would cover four or five positions.

  • Probably bollocks but liked the look of him for a long time
    Where's the salt? I need a pinch.

I thought he was good first time around and with a bit more experience now he may well be very good - whether he played for us before is irrelevant

And where they are as importantly. Should think more than one is considering having talks with other clubs if they haven't already.
