I'd take 21st now. Anything better will constitute a good season. Relegation (ie lower than 21st) a poor one.
I would say disastrous rather than poor. We must not go down or I would fear for our future.
Upto the rich owners then lend us a fiver in the transfer market with all them billions.
All depends on what you’ve got coming in. FFP much stricter on the championship.
There’s rumours at Millwall that young James Berylson would actually like to pump more money in to the team and really go for it but his hands are tied because of this.
Until we see the results of the transfers in and out, we can not guess how the season will pan out. All we know is as usual we are later than many of our rivals in getting our transfer targets in.

Are we? Signings so far by our potential rivals this season
Yes a couple of clubs have done some business but we aren’t really any different to the majority in not having signed many yet, and that’s not even considering our season finished weeks after all of theirs

It would be a catastrophe. Financially would put us back a few years at least. Might make the owners think that it’s just too hard and not worth it. Would lose any of the decent players we have and start again from scratch in a division that year on year is becoming harder to escape. Jones would probably consider his future. We must do enough to stay up and consolidate. We won’t do it on the cheap either.

Millwall 2, including breaking their record transfer fee, set last season. Norwich, have made a signing, Derby have made a so called statement signing. The transfer window is in full swing.

We can't be compared to these clubs though bar Wrexham as they are all at least 1 full championship season ahead of us with squads full of championship quality players.
If we were in League1 still I would agree, but we are playing catch up.
Let's see anyway, looking like another week without a signing, would be amazed if we go another week without one.

Think the last sentence is most important. If Cawley is right and we’re back in pre season training on 7th July then it ultimately doesn’t matter if they signed 5 weeks ago or on the 6th of July. We just like to see it early because we find it exciting
An interesting video using AI to rank the Championship clubs by size. The results seem fair other than for Derby, and yes we are ranked higher than a certain other SE London side

Judging the size of clubs can be taken so many ways.
I would say we are a similar size club to QPR, Birmingham being noticeably in front of us, but we are miles behind Wednesday.
My only expectation is that we stay up without a relegation fight. If we carry on how we were at the end of the season I think that’s more than possible.
Expecting us to be able to push for promotion this (or next) season is ridiculous. The Championship is probably the hardest league to play in, and we will need time to shape the right squad if we want to be promoted to and then stay in the Premiership.
Our hopes have to be realistic, and it’s all about the timescale. Premier League football is eminently possible, but only if the owners are not mad, bad or Belgian (or a combination of the three) and the Manager has a plan and some nous - and crucially nobody is too eager to run before they can walk.
I’m hoping we can be competitive, not get relegated and build the team over the next couple of seasons into a squad pushing towards promotion. Oh and a few great results against some of our old enemies lol
4th from bottom will be good enough. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
It would be good enough but if you aim for 4th from bottom your more likely going to fail and not set yourself up right, getting beat and morale going downhill does alot to teams as we all know from some of our own runs when we couldn't buy a point, trying to get mid table and the personel in would give us a better chance of surviving and not scraping the barrel of impending doom every week.

I’m assuming you’re judging Birmingham based on the sudden stature they have achieved under these high profile owners?
Prior to that, they have hardly won anything of note, not dissimilar league history/ status to us and in the championship generally around 15-20k average crowd which is what we would/ will have at championship level.

Thinking the same and couldnt care less who the three teams below us are!!!
There’s quite a few “bigger than us” but under performing teams in the division… all circling the plug hole over the last two or three seasons. We’ve just gotta keep positive and trust the players to come good.

Is this a new form of AI that can tell what happens in the the future?
Avoiding relegation is a success in our first season
