FUCK OFF PRESTON4

So that's Mulligan to Hibs, Offiah to Preston and Gailbraith who can play RWB to Swansea.
I'd go and ask Huddersfield what they want for Lasse Sorensen next.1 -
I'd be interested to know if we simply didn't follow up on our earlier interest or if Preston have just blown us out of the water with a wage offer.5
-
Small left back, Offiah right back is a good set of full backs tbh, pace and power both sides.Pelling1993 said:Guess that will mean Preston are likely to play Small at LB/LWB

Not massively upset by that honestly. Seemed like a decent player but no guarantees he makes the step up.
Like Galbraith he’d be making a mistake but that’s ok, he’ll realise it in a couple of years. :-)1 -
Don’t know enough about their squad but it would be a big risk for an established Championship club to have two unproven players at the level as wing backsNorth Lower Neil said:

The question we have to ask is, who's at the top of our list for RWB?
Have we missed out on our top targets already? Or is there a name or two that haven't been mentioned yet, that we're really targeting?
Jones alluded to the fact they usually get a list of suitable players for a position and work through that, sometimes having a couple of irons in the fire at the same time, so I'm not too worried yet10 -
Hope we go for Jayden Fevrier in that position, similar to small in that he is probably better going forward than defensively3
-
I doubt they blew us out of the water, when discussing Small with the Preston FM researcher he said:Chris_from_Sidcup said:I'd be interested to know if we simply didn't follow up on our earlier interest or if Preston have just blown us out of the water with a wage offer.

Saw Fevrier play for Colchester at Gillingam a year or 2 ago. He and Joe Taylor were a massive cut above the rest. Interestingly Tovide also came on for Colchester, but the beer had set in by then, so I can't remember if he was any good!Covered_End_Lad said:Hope we go for Jayden Fevrier in that position, similar to small in that he is probably better going forward than defensively
Result Gillingham 0 Colchester 31 -
Wonder how a player feels if he knows he is way down the teams list of potential people for that position?
Jones talks about having absolute buy-in, and although its never that simple it feels like it needs to work both ways.1 -
The lure of proximity to the National Railway Museum is proving difficult to turn down it seems. Need to start bigging up the Thames Barrier.21
-
I wonder if we might look abroad now, I’d say we need atleast two on that right hand side.0
-
Great. Ready for another six pages of people saying we’re skint after we just dropped £2.5m on two players for the first time in a decade.Scoham said:

Fu*kin' National Railway Museum...enough already, that train left ages ago...🤦♂️Addickted4life said:
You'd like to think so but Preston are so much closer to The National Railway Museum I think it's better we give up and move on.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Offiah was born in London and used to be in Bromley's academy.
I'd like to think that if we are in for him (Cawley did confirm a few weeks back that we were) then as long as we're not miles away from what Preston are offering him in wages, then he'd prefer to sign for us over them.1 -
Is Offiah even a wing back, sounded more like Ramsey6
-
Offiah isn’t a wingback. He is a more traditional fullback/right side of a three man backline (this is me rationalizing why we don’t need him)2

Is that Poland and Slovakia?Yann897 said:I wonder if we might look abroad now, I’d say we need atleast two on that right hand side.2 -
We don't need anyone who don't need us...so on to the next please.5

Concerning that Preston are making good signings and they're a team you'd think would be amongst the bottom cohort next season.10
-
Preston probably did offer more, or offered a more lucrative deal in some capacity, but that's ok as we have now proven we are willing to match the wages of the lower end Champ wages with our two latest signings, which is all we can ask for as a newly promoted club.Scoham said:

We probably won't compete with upper Championship regulars, as you need some real stability/consistency to do that, but it looks like we can offer what other newly promoted champ sides can, which is all I/we can ask for.
We aren't skint, that's been proven now, we just have a low budget, which I think has always been the case. We'll be alright, staying up is the goal.

My point is that they're making good signings.Yann897 said:
To be fair it does say Charlton were interested not that we put in a concrete offer and he chose them.J BLOCK said:Concerning that Preston are making good signings and they're a team you'd think would be amongst the bottom cohort next season.0 -
They were one of a few teams that could have got relegated on the last day. Perhaps their owners have taken notice & realise that they need to strengthen.J BLOCK said:Concerning that Preston are making good signings and they're a team you'd think would be amongst the bottom cohort next season.
That or they just want to piss us off !1 -
Gonna suck for them, when we relegate them in (checks fixtures) April thenJ BLOCK said:

Think our priorities have changed .. Ramsey will play the small role now with another right sided centre back coming in possibly two ….. we bring in a young understudy as back up ?3
-
I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed that we were haven't been able to sign Galbraith and Offiah.
But I'm happy with the business so far and have confidence that Charlton is now an attractive proposition for the kind of players we need to bring in.9 -
Not really, they’ve got a good manager and are chucking money at it, if there’s a safe bet it’s Preston always bring mid tableJ BLOCK said:Concerning that Preston are making good signings and they're a team you'd think would be amongst the bottom cohort next season.0 -
