  • What the fuck business is it of anyone else's whether anyone has a tattoo?

What business is it of anyone else's whatever stuff gets discussed here. People have opinions, that's all.

Not a fan of tats generally but accept some look good artistically speaking. It's the ear stretching that I don't get. People who want to make a giant hole in their ears, how can they not stop and think maybe in ten years I'll not want to look like this?
Anyway as Clem says it's not a big deal and I don't particularly care what people do to themselves, I just don't get it.

The ear thing is shocking. Can't understand that. It looks awful.

I'm completely not interested by the thought of piercings or any kind of jewellery on any part of my face or body.

I have a rather random strange hate towards that stuff.

Don't have a tattoo but my only motivation for getting body art would be because it is an attractive trait through the eyes of the 21st century woman.

Tattoos are fine and I think in some ways they do look "cool".

I've been wondering what the footballer fascination with them is for ages as well. I definitely think it's something to do with them working 3 hours a day and having time on their hands...Also, I don't think the 'it'll look shit when you're 70' argument is purely about ink fading etc. I think it's more the awkwardness of explaining to grandkids or anyone you might meet why you have a snake and an eagle on your leg, or Malaga 2008 on your arse. It obviously doesn't affect my life or the lives of people who don't like tattoos, but I think it's hard to believe why on earth people thought certain tattoos would be a good idea. But each to their own, if we were all the same itd be boring blah blah...If anyone ever shows me a new tattoo and asks my opinion I instantly tell them it looks amazing. How can you tell someone who is stuck with ink on their body forever anything different?

I can't believe no one has brought up that Sheff Weds wrong date tattoo yet. Surely a great excuse to revisit that gem of a thread.

    Malaga 2008 on the ass.

Nail on the head. Completely ridiculous and actually funny by how unfunny it is.

I can understand why people have them, lots of my friends have them and some of them are works of art. Not for me though. The train of thought that i have is...what will they look like when you are 70?!

I'm 10 years away from 70 and I won't give a flying feck what they look like when I reach that age, I'm still restocking my wardrobe after CL fashionista told me I'm to old to be wearing baseball caps and trainers. Its all about personal choice and if you like it thats all that matters, now where did I put my hush puppy slip ons and my beige chinos, I'm at bingo tonight. ;)
Too right mate, I still think you look great

Is it me, or does Corbyn look more PM like with the tats?
  • I heard he has dianne abbot's head tattooed on his head.

These days as he has got a bit older, you mostly get to see small dianne if you were looking.

Once in a while, he gets excited and big Diane would be visible if you weee insane enough to have a camera and lighting in Jeremy's y-fronts.
  • Got 2 tattoos one is a charlton badge the other some tribal shit that I regret
  • I'm inked up. Only thing I'll say about tattoos is regardless of how nice, good at a job, approachable or any other nice quality you have people will judge you on them bits of skin drawings

  • Tattoos on both upper arms and have no regrets.

When I worked for a company, they always insisted that my shirt sleeves covered them. Now I work for myself, who cares

  • ’British number three Sonay Kartal has said she wants help picking a new tattoo after reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old booked her place in the last 16 with a 6-4 6-2 victory over France's Diane Parry on Friday.

Kartal will face Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the next round on Sunday, but has made no secret of her desire to add to the 14 tattoos she already has.

"I'm not one to say no to a tattoo," she said after her win over Parry. "I think I can easily be persuaded.

"I'm just lacking on a few creative ideas myself so if people have any ideas let me know and I'm sure that I will definitely get one."

Interesting to see how many people on the BBC website say (as I also think) that she should get none, and how many likes there are for these comments. Others say, quite rightly, that she should be able to do as she wants, but she did ask the public. If the majority of the public say to not to get one, it would be interesting to hear what she thinks of that.

I’d also like to know the true opinion of men in their teens and twenties. Do you think that a woman your age, like Kartal, can look more attractive with a tattoo? If so, can she look still more attractive with a 15th?

Perhaps the objective is not to look more attractive but the average woman spends so much money and time on hair, make up, clothes etc to look more attractive, so why get a tattoo if it does the opposite?

I’m in my 50s and I find it incomprehensible that men get tattoos so I’m baffled by women painting over their (beautiful) bodies and spoiling them imo. I’d like to know what young men truthfully think.

  •  I am embarrassed to say that several of my illustrations, designs/logos have found themselves various peoples bodies, the worst case the example above, which had they asked me I would have refused permission, but given them a decent copy for the 'inker' to follow, instead of a bad low resolution copy. The poor woman!. I have produced several 'images' logo's and drawings, none of which  I feel I would want to put on my body, although in my 70's some people might think it might be an improvement. Of course people are free to follow their own desires.
My own son's have them, which I showed my displeasure...... so my feeble disapproval count's for sweet F A!. I am glad to report that one son has seen sense and is having one removed at a cost of several hundreds of pounds!. ( I think it is thousands)
As for people who have them on there face/head, I will never understand it!.
I refused the image below being used, and threatened legal action if they went ahead, due to 'copyright'.

I'm in my 50s and pretty certain I have no interest in what men - young or otherwise - think about what women do with/to their bodies.

  • Went out with a mate of mine last Sunday drinking in the sunshine. He's a Millwall fan and I've known him since we were 3yrs old at play school. He has a Millwall tattoo and was saying hes always amazed that I dont have a Charlton one! Anyway about 6-7 pints in i declared "when we beat you lot this season im fucking getting it done!" Or words to that effect ha! I dont think he remembers that conversation and I've not brought it up since, but if a miracle were to happen I might just have to do it lol

    Hahahaaa...that's brilliant 👏
  • Have one, would like more but the fpo would struggle with that. Have a simple Chinese symbol of my birth sign for 1962. Tiger.
  • There was one posted on this forum but not sure what thread, that was of a father and son (just black figures) with red and white scarves around their necks.

Think it was tribute to his dad who had passed away.

    Really simple but really moving

    Exactly what I said aloud.

    I take it all back,lol

If I had to get a tattoo, it would be this - really appeals to my sense of humour.
