  • He’s also had a haircut which makes his head look massive, good for getting on the end of crosses
  • 3 years and a +1 option suggests that there's pretty high hopes, he certainly has the physical attributes to succeed.

    That’s excellent news!
  • I see a raw player, the club see the potential, good news he's been signed up long term.
  • Still feels like the best thing for him next season is a loan. Great to get him signed long term though.
  • He's definitely one who the manager really rates, whereas before NJ arrived he wouldn't have been the academy striker I'd expect to break through.

I still think he was promoted a bit early, so he really shouldn't be featuring regularly in the Championship squads. Whether that means a loan or just a season in the U21s with the occasional cup game remains to be seen.
  • If we’re not signing another forward this summer then this means that NJ sees his progress in training as good enough to make league appearances.  Players his age can make huge strides in short periods. Maybe we’ve been stuck in League One so long to forget that we once had young players stepping up to making regular appearances in even the top division.

I long for the days when for example Scott Minto came in from nowhere, looked so classy that Chelsea signed him, and so we just simply seemlessly brought in Anthony Barness.
Then there’s Lee, Stuart, Mortimer, Bennett, Konchesky and more recently Doughty (and loads of others) who broke into the 1st team at a young age and fitted in immediately. Why not Mbick or anyone else?

Not for his first spell as an addick. But he wasn't through our youth ranks either. Had been released by Fulham and was working in a book shop when he had a successful trial with us.

And shown in the first couple of reserve team sheets as Paul Mortimore

You are correct but my point still stands, he wasn’t through our academy.

I can see him being kept around, with maybe the odd short term non-league loan if he’s not getting on our bench.

9 subs now so I think either him or Dixon can make the bench, especially if there is an attacking injury

Plus NJ likes to throw on someone to run around like a nutter for 15 mins and young players will be happy to do so

  • Really, really glad to see him signing a longer deal, he's such a great prospect.
  • Jones obviously sees something in the lad beyond his obvious physical attributes and who knows how improved a young player can come back after the closed season look at how improved TC came back last season if this lad does the same I wouldn’t be surprised to see him part of the match day squads

  • Great physical presence and gets in good positions… just seems a bit lost when he gets the ball in them!

Definitely needs a season long loan playing first team football.

    *You’re all nitpicking.

So one of the ones I mentionned didn’t come ftom academy.  Besides, weren't Fulham in the 3rd division back then, so it was still a young player with no experience in the top division.

Everyone now seems to think that a loan out to a lower division side is a necessity,  but some young players are good enough to come straight into the team.

I don’t know if Mbick is good enough but we haven't signed any other forward yet and we need someone else but just Godden, Leaburn and Ahadme.

There's nit picking and there's also hanging your hat on an older player who can't do it all himself and dropped down a division to play for us, 2 youngsters, one who's injured alot and the other who has had a handful of minutes and then ahadme, the someone else you say we need apart from godden isn't any of these in reality. Teams are improving and dropping more than our whole transfer budget on one striker despite us having rich owners and good support if they surprise us all over the window then so be it and it would be more than welcome but stand still and rely on the afore mentioned and we will need more than just luck.

We’ve signed Olaofe, though I expect we’ll sign another striker to give us 5 senior strikers.
  • He'd be well suited to a season with Crawley or maybe Wimbledon.
  • He'd be well suited to a season with Crawley or maybe Wimbledon.
Crawley would be absolutely ideal. Lost a few players up top and they'll play good football under Lindsay.
  • More good news.

    And he's had a haircut.

I know some will quickly say how unimpressed they were with him last season but there is great potential there.  Give him time.
He panicked in the final but Jones clearly sees something so fingers crossed he will have time to develop and end up being a good player .  Wonder if he will go on loan though - I’d hope we are still going to bring in another striker , unless Leaburn comes back reborn , so a temporary switch to league one or two might be wise
  • At the latter stages of an under 21 game at Dartford last season Micha was near me in the corner. He has bested quite a physical battle against his opposing centre half. Anyway I said ‘You’ve played well Micha’  and he gave me a thumbs up.
If he goes on to become a top player it will be all down to me.
