  • Presented me with the only thing I ever won playing football playing in a 5 a side competition at Crofton Park leisure centre 50 years ago.

    Rest In Peace
  • Sad loss! I have this picture in my memorabilia, team photo from 1960 the year I was born. The man himself is second left middle row. Lots of other legends in that side including my dad’s favourite, Stuart Leary.
Remember that team well, what great players we had, then,Leary was a dream to watch,Kiernan was about 5 ft 6 but rarely beaten in the air,Johnny Summers was a powerhouse sadly  taken in his early 30s .
RIP Gordon you where one of that special bunch of players.
  • Saw Gordon Jago play.  Remember him being Millwall manager.

    RIP
This .. saw a documentary about Millwall where he was trying to convince some of its hooligan following to stop causing trouble and welcome visiting supporters to the Den. That worked. RIP Gordon Jago
  • Rest in peace Gordon Jago a legend.

That was a Panorama programme - he was very upset at how the BBC filming crew ‘manipulated’ things to get ‘action’ for the programme - he thought they would focus more on his and Millwall’s efforts to reduce the problems at the club - it ultimately resulted in him leaving - he felt betrayed by the whole thing

The programme (from memory) shows Harry the Dog trying to take on the home end at Bristol Rovers all on his own - it’s worth a watch purely for its comedic value !!!

    RIP a pioneering football man
