Giants win a series in NYC against the Yankees for the first time ever. Amazing stat. Jung Hoo Lee is on fire, hope he stays fit this season.
That’s a stat that makes you think that cannot be right
Not really, with one very big caveat - when they say Giants, they specifically mean the San Francisco Giants.
Interleague play only started in 1997, and teams don’t play everyone every year, so there have only been 8 regular season series between the two teams, and only 5 of them have been in NY. So the Giants lost the first 4, and finally won on the 5th attempt.
But the NY Giants beat the Yankees twice in the World Series, and all of those games would have been played in NY. So it all depends on your definition of Giants.

He looked like a fun player last season but got hurt so early. Nice to see him doing well. The NL West is brutal. I don't feel bad for the Rockies, because they're the Rockies and they make their own fate, but the idea that one of Giants, DBacks, Dodgers, or Giants might miss out on the playoffs is bonkers so early in the season.
Another amazing end to the game at Oracle Park last night. 3-1 down at the bottom of the ninth, with two on base, Giants catcher Patrick Bailey hit an in-the-park homer to win the game. The first catcher to hit an in-park home run for 99 years apparently.

I woke up at 5.00 this morning to give my dog a tranquilliser before an early vet visit and had a quick look when the Giants were 1-3 down at the bottom of the 8th and couldn’t’ be bothered to check at full-time! So it was a nice surprise when I checked in just now to see thy won!
