Chansiri pays himself (his other company who own the stadium) the 2.5m rent from club money doesn't he? I'm sure i read something Keiran Maguire mentioned about it.

Thought the same. Language is very on the fence, apart from saying knowledge of interested buyers, the rest is full of "could be", "a bit of", and "led to believe".
There are loads of people who will be interested because rich people weirdly love buying football clubs, what changes is when they enter due diligence and get a look at the books. The purchase itself will be expensive but they’re also going to have to pay off a lot of debts and assemble a new squad and coaching staff (almost all of Rohl’s staff no longer under contract). Whoever buys them is going to need seriously deep pockets

Most football violence when I was growing up (I was born in 1953) was spontaneous. The advent of mobile technology changed this, and perhaps one of the most violent involving Charlton fans was what became known as ‘The Battle of Maze Hill’, when Southampton fans came of worse in a pre-arranged meet at Maze Hill railway station in the early 2000’s.
I suspect they are fucked. Labour looking like it’s going to introduce a 2% wealth tax on assets of £10 million or more could well put the kibosh on buying a football club. Imagine owning a a club valued at £50 million that not only doesn’t pay any dividends but also actually costs you a small fortune to keep going each year and then being told you owe HMRC 2% of the the value of the asset. I doubt any club will get sold until there is more clarity of that particular tax.

Taxing companies at a rate of 2% of their net assets would very likely cause a complete collapse of the UK economy. (Enough companies are bailing out and listing on US exchanges anyway. If for no other reason than there is no stamp duty on share purchases in the US.) Not that I expect Rachel from Accountants to realise that.

The wealth tax is a red herring - there are people on the left getting very excited about the idea, but fundamentally it's a Green Party proposal not a Labour one. If the sale takes so long that there's a change of government between now and the end f the process, a wealth tax will be the least of Wednesday's problems.

I suspect they use the Gassama fee to pay any players they wish to retain in full of the 6 that put in their notice which would block them from leaving. Then they sit and hope the takeover goes through.
