Can't see anything from Apter's history that suggests he would have played with and therefore known Docherty before...? (there is the Scottish connection as they both played for the Scotland U21s, but at completely different times).
But Apter/Doc follow each other on Instagram... Of course, footballers know footballers, there is every chance they may have known each other previously and it's not possible to see exactly when someone started following someone else. But, according to AI 'while Instagram doesn't display exact dates, the most recent followers are often listed near the top'.
Apter has 6,800 followers and Doc is 18th on the list when I open it, which suggests it's a fairly recent connection...
Representatives by Wasserman, who are based in Orpington i believe

Literally two roads down the road from me, they bought out CSM who were originally in Footscray and then moved to Orpington

Don't think we should start slagging off Blackpool fans as a whole over the odd comment.
They're a fairly grounded bunch and alright whenever I've been there. Genuinely one of my favourite away days, just a shame the weather always seems to be shite.

They also have that place that does a burger for a quid so they are alright in my book.

This, we reacted the same way with Small, it’s just the way fans are. If a player leaves for a club that’s not big enough in their estimation then it means “he was not all that”. We did it with Small, Lockyer etc and Blackpool fans are doing it with Apter and I’ve seen Luton fans doing the same
Some nice goals in there. Obviously his best bits and it doesn’t show the missed chances, but what sticks out for me is the composure he shows. A lot of calmly taken well placed finishes in there, looks to have a lot of potential as a goalscoring winger.
Someone was saying Apter hasn't got great pace. He looks rapid enough to me and, importantly, he seems able to run fast with the ball at close control at his feet. That is rare, and a great quality to have.

❌ Areas to Watch
Although explosive, his physicality and strength are modest—he’s not a power winger, so he sometimes relies more on agility than bulk Instagram.
Like many creative types, his consistency can dip—there have been matches where he’s a spectator rather than an instigator Blackpool Gazette.
🎬 Tactical Fit & Development
Best-suited to high-tempo, attacking football, especially teams that favour wing play and aggressive pressing.
Thrives with freedom to roam outside and inside the box—telltale from his performances both on loan and back at Blackpool Blackpool Gazette+2Blackpool Gazette+2Wikipedia+2.
