I don’t see why people think we are going to return to the team we were at the start of last season, solid at the back but not creating enough chances. We evolved from that team as the season went on and became a really good team
I think Ramsay to wing back is a step back towards that. Yes we need to be defensively solid but we still need to create chances to win games. I think we should stick to the formula from the second half of last season, as we were absolutely miles better as a team playing that way. So for me Apter swaps in for Small and we play the same way. Burke competes with Ramsay and Jones, Bell with Gillesphey and Edwards, Godden/Leaburn parter TC/Olaofe up front with TC/Olaofe drifting left
We have 3 who can play there though in Ramsay, JRC & Apter. The fact we're after another suggests either someone is moving on or we have other plans for all the above players (or perhaps we want Ramsay out there and feel we need a replacement). Big change to the last few years when we went into multiple seasons without a single recognised senior LB.

We’ve definitely (on paper) over delivered compared to what was promised transfer wise. Almost a completely new team has been assembled for the champ. I’m all for it, exciting transfers. Almost feel like a proper club again

My recollection is that he wanted to trim the squad, as he preferred a tight group of players, rather than having lots of players on the training pitch who would never play.
It would make no sense saving money in January, if it cost promotion.
Never seen such contrasting reviews as on this Miller, when he signed the new deal he was Jesus reborn but now £1m is gods gift but they’ve turned it down.

From what Challinor said Tanto’s a striker who can play wide, but it doesn’t get the best out of him.
I can see him up front but with freedom to drift out there, which isn’t the same as playing as a winger where he’d have to track back more and mainly be a creative rather than a goalscorer.
Miller thing is a bit odd to me. I wonder if perhaps we’ve had an enquiry for Ramsay and are now actively looking for a quality replacement. If there’s any truth in our bid I just don’t see where he fits in to what is increasingly looking like an overloaded or at least well stocked defence. Can’t see any other reason other than Ramsay replacement for the interest or bid.
We are so damaged that our fans have forgot what it feels like to have squad depth.
We have no right back other than Ramsay (unless you count Asiimwe), no right wing back, one left back, 2 if you count Bell.
Edwards, Bell, Gillesphey, Jones, Burke, Mitchell (s) and Ramsay, to cover 5 defensive slots. One more is normal squad numbers when you consider injuries and 46 games.
I would more lean towards one of the Mitchell's going out on loan than selling Ramsay.
Having this many options is very normal and how proper clubs are run, competition for spots and squad depth.
Finally! Someone else that sees it! You can’t just go into a season with one player in every position, we barely got away with it last season, look at what happened when Small got injured in the run-in, could have cost us badly
Jones will want exactly the same levels of intensity as he did last season, only now we’re up against better teams. Substitutions will be critical next season and having a like for like ability for the manager will make a big difference. We can’t afford to have too many untried and untested kids on the bench.
