That’s not necessarily what I would do but that’s what I think it will be .
If we play that system then it will be TC or Carey rather than Olaofe I think. Olaofe can play there but he’d be better in our 3-5-2 and TC/Carey are better options for a wide role
Jones has always been a manager that has packed the middle of the pitch so I think a 3-4-3 with just 2 central midfielders is very unlikely. If we do it then I’d imagine Carey would play off the left so we’ve got another body in the middle of the park
I still think we will play our system from last season but switch it up for the tougher games with a more defensive wing back than Apter
First time I have been 'in the know'. Been told we're interested in Laureano Sanabria Ruiz (commonly known as Laure) from Deportivo La Coruna and Malachi Hardy from Tottenham's academy.

He's 40!!
Good news for all 40-year-old Charlton fans. There's still hope of getting signed by Jones and Chapple!

Surely we aren’t after a 40 year old right back who has never left Spain? Unless I’m being whooshed?

You are yes. Look at the names of the players more closely.

Yes we have more income in the Championship, and yes we clearly need to spend more to survive, but this does feel like quite a change in strategy by the owners, even from January when we just brought in two squad filling loan players, rather than "statement " signings.
Even back then in the January transfer window, NJ said he wanted to trim the squad and save funds to put towards the summer window
My recollection is that he wanted to trim the squad, as he preferred a tight group of players, rather than having lots of players on the training pitch who would never play.
It would make no sense saving money in January, if it cost promotion.
Maybe, but he did say there was budget for new signings, but that he would rather the spend money in the summer.
There was no pressure on him to win promotion, considering how distant we were from the promotion pack at the time.
Yes, he did want trim the squad to make a tight group - and to see where it takes them while there was still an outside chance of promotion but it was a long, long shot.
But nobody was tipping Charlton for promotion last January.
A note of caution, it's great that we are actively using the market to improve the side, but, we probably need to be a bit patient in waiting for the side to gel. Nathan Jones proved a lot of us wrong last season, me included, and it would be great if we hit the ground running but it's a really tough division and it may take time................nah fuck it, we are on the way up !!!

We’re also in for Tom Cannon from Sheff Utd and Dominic Ball from Orient.

Reaching the playoffs in January was still a very realistic target. That's half the season to gain points!

(It took me a moment to realise as well)

By the time you wake up, there may even be another signing 😆
