Stunning performance from Tipp. I’ve 6 cousins in Croke going mad at the moment and the family in Gortnahoe and London not far behind them.
Came out for that 2nd half like an express train 🚂 (Charlton reference) and never looked back. We were such underdogs, none of us expected this today and certainly not in that manner! 💙💛
What a cracking game, with a tremendous second half.
These lads are as fit as butchers’ dogs. The game was played in a very good spirit and where there were one or two instances of afters, no one batted an eyelid and just got on with it.

Also both sets of fans sitting with each other
The general level of sportsmanship is admirable and I also enjoyed the punditry, including the little gaggle of celebs (even though I didn’t recognise most of them).
Just back from Bushes Bar Baltimore where it was standing room only. No idea what team came out in the second half but it certainly wasn’t the same as the first 😂 Brilliant comeback from Tipp, well deserved victory. Our Tipp family will not be going to bed tonight 😂😂😂
Little known is that Liam McCarthy’s grave is in Camberwell New Cemetery. Worth a visit if you love Hurling.
He was my Great Great Grandfather! I went to the unveiling of the gravestone as it was unmarked for several years. I've been to quite a few hurling finals, my dad loaned some items to the GAA museum which are on display!
OMG!!!! I never realised we were amongst royalty? 💚💚💚💚💚
Haha yes! Around 10 years ago I was in Dublin for a final, a random guy started talking to me and upon hearing my English accent, asked me two questions . Where do you live... London.... what brings you to the final.... family. He instantly knew my Dad's name and turned out he lived in the Village in Cork where Liam's parents were from before moving to London. I met up with their group, a couple I had met before when I was much younger and they were all asking me questions and having their photos taken with me! My girlfreind thought it was crazy!! It is mad how important the history is too them, youngsters were all excited about it too!
It was a mad game yesterday, I was hoping for a Cork win but they just collaped in the second half. Hurling is such a chaotic game, some incredible skill one second and mad clumsy seeming scrambles on the floor the next! Gaelic football seems way more normal in comparison!

Because being the favourites means that you cannot stop at half time.

i have such great memories of my one and only final in 1989. Cracking sport! Literally!
Up Tipp!!
