A couple things. His crossing almost seems too good for the J League, quite a few chances in that video that weren’t finished. Would bet with better strike options at his disposal he’d have loads of assists
Secondly, Japan starts their season in February and are currently in match day 24 out of 38. Poor guy will be knackered having to start all over
Possibly the most randomly exciting rumor in my time supporting the club, at least one that has legs anyway
Loving the link to the Japanese guy. Even if a deal doesn't work out at least it shows we're scouting further afield. I mentioned on here a couple of weeks ago, that with the prices of domestic players these days, it can pay to go shop in foreign markets. Birmingham (whilst spending a lot) have signed 3 Japanese players, and they're a country whose players tend to adapt pretty well to English football.
Ron Saunders was a small centre forward but I was amazed at how good he was in the air. He seemed to specialise in the diving header.
Wasn’t bad as a manager as well.
Got Villis through to quarter finals European Cup as well as winning League the year before.
NB He was sacked at Villa before playing quarter final.
Saunders resigned from Villa. His assistant instead took Villa to European glory. Very good Villa team that, team not a squad as basically the same 11 featured nearly every week.
Yes he resigned 9th Feb 1982 having taken Villis through to quarter finals of European cup.
I have just checked google thank you.
Some manager to resign have won league and sitting in quarter finals of Europes top competition.
Very happy with this. We need an out and out rb/rwb. I think over half the clubs in the championship now have a former J league or K league player in them. The majority if not all, have turned out to be great signings.
If he turns out to be anything like Sakamoto of Coventry it would be a great investment. Zheng was a decent player for us many moons ago very technical and full of energy (lacked a little bit of flair and decision making but overall pretty consistent)

Wasn’t one of our investors from Asia? Or have I made that up?
ACA. Minority now but from Japan iirc.
Singapore
Based in Singapore but I believe backed by Japanese capital, with Japanese staff and part of ACA Investments that are Japan/Singapore based. Singapore mainly for tax reasons.

Genius move getting a Japanese player in. Club will save a fortune when his family and friends clean up the stadium after every game.

Make it happen Nathan and Phil
He's a kind of reverse Zen character where we're concerned.
I fully expect that he would assume that "the Orient" can only mean his team, so that we're being vile again.
