Berry has a knack for arriving at the right time to score goals. Think he definitely has a role to play this season even if it’s from the bench, scored a few from it last year. I still wouldn’t be surprised to see him starting once he’s fit and up to speed19

Berry won’t be going anywhere. Jones rates him highly.. his minutes will be managed. Berry has important goals in his locker. And knows games time might be slowly limited.Braziliance said:Feel like one way or another, Berry will end up back at Cambridge.
Think he will finish his contract here as he will have a role to play from the bench. I can't see him starting, but he would offer us something as an impact sub.
I feel the same way about Godden, think it will be a case of managing his minutes and either Tanto, Leaburn or the new (expected) mystery striker will be the main forward.
Both good options in the Championship, especially Godden.
Godden will have his own pre season plan, and will follow. As long as firing by the start of the season, that’s good management37 -
Agree 100% with this.DubaiCAFC said:

As long as firing by the start of the season, that’s good managementI’ve said before that Berry has a lampard like ability to be in the right place at the right time on the edge of the box to stick the ball away. Also strikes the ball so cleanly when bobbling around. Not sure he’ll start many but can see him being a useful sub5 -
If Godden goes, we def won't get Kelman, and FA would be well pissed off with that one...😉KiwiValley said:Am i the only one that thinks Godden and Berry's "slight calf strain" is the classic ruse for players a club wants to keep fit so they can offload? Nathan pretty confident of getting 2 more in at least it sounds like from his post match with Rich and Louis. Lembikisa in for a week.16

The Huddersfield owner having a dig at the Barnsley youtuber was not on my bingo list

Sounds like it is McGuane to Huddersfield. Hopefully means Leonard is still available, you never know. Probably wishful thinking.3 -
Yeah Mcguane was announced earlier. Can't see them signing Leonard too now tbh.Braziliance said:The Huddersfield owner having a dig at the Barnsley youtuber was not on my bingo list

Berry, Godden and Mannion injured.

We definitely need another striker. Godden is the only one currently who has proven Champ scoring and he will not play much this season.wmcf123 said:

Sounds like Godden’s injury isn’t serious. Hopefully managing his minutes.0

If they are saying it, it's more likely to be Calvin Robinson...MarcusH26 said:

FLW "opinion " piece. Scored for Cardiff today anyway.
Who is, to be fair, also inclined to operate out on the right wing.
He said, searching for his coat.3 -
Wouldn’t come as a shock to see Berry or Mannion leave or even possibly Godden.A decent RWB, CM and a ST are needed!11

From Jones comments looks like Lembiksa is someone he’s interested in having a proper look at pretty much confirms Asiimwe isn’t seen as part of the first team next season. Looks like a RWB ST will be coming and maybe a midfielder but that’s not guaranteed0

We’ve got enough midfielders already so I still think that’s unlikely, unless there’s an unexpected outgoing. Think it will just be a wing back and a strikerCrispywood said:From Jones comments looks like Lembiksa is someone he’s interested in having a proper look at pretty much confirms Asiimwe isn’t seen as part of the first team next season. Have I missed some news of which others are aware? I know that Godden will soon turn 34 and is in the last stage of his career, but that is not necessarily a great age for a striker. Last season he was one of our best 5 players, and I did not notice any drop-off in his performance even in the last strenuous weeks of an exhausting season.Southbank said:
Godden ... will not play much this season.
I appreciate that he would have to be carefully managed, but I saw nothing to suggest that he could not play at least a quarter of minutes available this season, as one of four (maybe five) strikers. Coming on at 70 minutes often, and occasionally starting. He is a poacher, and that is not the most demanding role physically.
Has some physical defect now been identified which would make that impossible? I have not seen any hint of that in all our gossip.10 -
Agreed and I’d be happy with that.NabySarr said:

Sounds like Rich hasn’t heard anything that suggests Kelman or Knibbs aren’t targets.MarcusH26 said:Nathan pretty confident of getting 2 more in at least it sounds like from his post match with Rich and Louis. Lembikisa in for a week.
I wonder if it’s one or the other, or if Knibbs is seen as a midfielder and therefore he’s the third we’d hope to get.0 -
Was just about to say about this, thought it was interesting that he didn’t rule out Kelman and Knibbs on the podcast as he normally does, I get the impression he still thinks we’ll get another 3 in and so do i, right wing back , striker and midfielder and that sounds spot on for me and would be a very very good window.Scoham said:

Lembikisa looked poor to me.

Random X rumour.

Personally I'd see Knibbs as a 10 who could also play wide in a front three , I'd still want an out and out striker if we signed him.Scoham said:
