Now that's a proper source at last 👍
He got his information by reading my post on here.
    nice one respect.
  • Wonder if Bennett is in as cover so the U21s have enough players and can get enough minutes. If Dixon played Man U on Thursday I would expect Enslin did too and so then there’s no cover for Edwards who probably isn’t ready for 90 mins yet. Him being on trial could just be a convenience thing for both us and Bennett

Have we ever announced a transfer on the weekend?
We have on Saturdays before but this won’t be announced till next week.

Do enjoy seeing these kind of comments. So many expect us to spend nothing and go back to L1.

It’s most likely from the extra TV and gate money the club is/will get from moving from L1 to the Championship being channeled to strengthening the squad. Given Nathan delivered last season and the owners will have seen and experienced the claims about the potential the club has weren’t bullshit they’ve decided to back him. It wouldn’t surprise me if one or two had spoken to Bowyer at Wembley and heard, or read comments from fans, that his promotion season was wasted for want of a bit more backing in the transfer market. They will also see the results of their fellow countrymen backing Birmingham and Wrexham in the transfer market and now that if you go all in it can pay off.
I shared what I heard from a highly regular first teamer straight after Wembley who my lad and I have a good relationship with as we have sponsored his kit. He is a top top bloke.

To repeat his words the US owners met the whole squad at Sparrows Lane on the Thursday prior to the final and committed to them that if they get promoted they would invest to ensure that we were competitive in the Championship. He said they confirmed that they would unlikely be spending fees at the same level as Birmingham or Wrexham but would be investing to help us try to maintain Champ/continue to grow.

None of this spending is a surprise to me as a result as player X had no reason to lie about it. If we spent £8-10m on a player then I would have been shocked but not these levels. I personally expected around £8m fees and a massive hike in wages, so over the moon so far and if Knibbs comes in too (for a fee) just wow…!

Big thanks to the owners for the backing!
Hey Macauley, smash it in the corner to get us up, then we will replace you with a big money signing.

I know what you mean, but that’s far better and shows ambition compared to saying everyone who takes us up will get a chance to keep us up.

I’d like to personally apologise to Linfieldos and the guy who leaked this on the other forum. I was wrong to doubt you.

They have been added to the ITK list.

I have not posted on here in the past and posted the info I had on the other forum because I knew how skeptical everyone would be. Kelman done, the Japanese player I was told about has now been cooled but Knibbs is still being worked on.

Also had Joe Bennett in for a look in training this past week. Not sure if his name turns up as a trialists today but was at SL for a couple of days.
Welcome mate. You'll get a promote within a week of joining if Knibbs comes off.
  • Why couldn't the owners put this sort of money in place last season?

Would have made things a bit easier... ;)
It's boring winning a league with record 112 points 😉
  • I know it will probably be Spurs' decision and not Donley's, but if he is someone NJ wants on loan, then i wonder if Kelman being here would give us some kind of edge in getting him. Maybe he'll want to come and play alongside the guy he played with all last season.
Bet Galbraith will be feeling unwell when we finish well above Swansea with Kelman and Donley in the side.

Was thinking this too the other day when it seemed more than likely the kelman transfer was happening, certainly gives us a little more edge with him knowing his former teammate is joining and we are looking a better proposition by the day with all our signings coming in.

Kelman seems underrated. He's an excellent, tidy technical player. I recall saying the same earlier in the season but he had only scored something like 5 in 24, before he caught fire and scored a lot more. I'd have taken him before the goals, tbh. He has a lot to offer and I don't think he's just a sniffer dog.

That being said, I'm curious to see NJ going for someone like him rather than another, more physical forward.

My thoughts the 1st time I saw Charlie Kelman 👍🏻
I think we are moving on from the Chuks Aneke type forward.
If we are hitting teams in transition then it's not just about holding the ball up but quick sharp moves while defenders are out of place to get shots off.

Having said that when Miles is on the field if a 6ft 7in player can't shield the ball and hold up play when we are building a move, what's he doing on the pitch ?
I want Leaburn to get the ball to his feet as well as in the air. ML does have some pace but isn't quick over the first few yards because of his size unless the defenders are dozy.
We have a good mix of forwards now and they will all get game time other than Ahadme or any young forward who goes out on loan.

We will have a plan A, B and possibly C this season because of the higher standard in the Championship.
Exciting times are back, try to be positive folks and be a supporter not always a critic.

😂 You know this is not how it works at any serious level of the game. The best and most consistent players in our league one campaign will be full of belief and raring to go. The fringe players have largely already left - perhaps one or two to go, a few youngsters will head out on loan and then places are up for grabs based on training and who proves they can step up. The motivation of playing at a higher level and with the support of a known player developer is all the motivation they would need. We are in the best place we have been for a long time and the players will all raise their game in that environment. Genuinely buzzing!

Well yes, that's exactly how you motivate your squad. Good players want to play with good players. They want to be in successful teams and they want to feel like they can win. If a rival for their position comes in they'll compete with them, meanwhile they'll be happy to see better players coming in in other positions. There's no quicker way to lose motivation in your squad then turning out an uncompetitive squad that hasn't been invested in and is doomed for relegation

This may sound a paradox but this is spot on 👏🏼

Hope it happens. Seen him (Kelman) play a few times over past 2 years and his game really went up a level last season. Plus a really good lad off the pitch.

  • Good thing we didn't win 5-0 in the final with some of the subs/fringe players scoring aswell, don't wanna upset them this coming season.

Plus as long as everyone is given a fair crack, the players have to prove their worth to play.
  • All players will have the faith that they're better than what's coming in, if you don't have that mentality you don't make it as a professional footballer

Just as footballers ultimately have no loyalty to the club if they get a better offer, clubs have no loyalty to players if an upgrade is required to do better. That is life.
  • Watching that video of Kelman's goals, you can see why he aligns himself so much to Godden, a lot of those goals had Godden written all over them, def a poacher in the box with a clinical finish, hope this gets done soon...

Yes but it also says that you are the foundation and we are going to be building on what we have, not turfing you all out and replacing with new mega signings -growing organically I believe or similar and tunes in with having similar targets whether we stayed down or went up - were now competing in a top 10 of league 1 and bottom 10 of the championship mini league - for now

The first goal in one of those vids of kelman is class aswell, curler into the top corner from proper acute angle outside the box.
