I suspect things will remain much as they are, with our heroic back three and Edwards pushed forward a bit.CAFCsayer said:Gillesphey in a back 4 is a massive no for me. I'd start him, but in a back 5
It depends which Gillesphey turns up, the 2024 version or the 2025 version. If he reverts to the former, we may see Edwards or Bell replace him at LCB. Let's hope that is not necessary.0 -

I think the back three at the start of the season will either be Bell Jones Ramsay or Bell Jones Burke - tough on Gillesphy but just think NJ will have more faith in Bell at this level.wolfgang said:

Personally think it will be Gilly, Jones and Ramsay. Burke won’t be fit enough at the start of the season.Pavoren007 said:

I think Gillesphey will get the gig until the first iffy performance and then it will be Bell who comes in.Pavoren007 said:

I know Ben, good lad. Wouldn't be like him to tweet for attention/talk nonsense. He may have heard something.Scoham said:Few X accounts claiming Knibbs is a done deal.

Seen a couple of Wrexham fans who seem convinced it's done, and that Reading local paper said it is as well, all that on top of Cawley not responding to all the Knibbs questions makes me think at the very least talks are ongoing.

New Reading owner liking a tweet about Knibbs coming to Charlton…

I reckon Knibbs signed the same time as Kelman...they just like prolonging the agony for us that's all bless 'em...6

We once had an office cleaner whose duties included making mid-morning coffee. Eventually we found out that she was making it by boiling milk in the electric kettle. The state of that heating element!carly burn said:

Be great if Kelman and Knibbs can be involved against Ipswich in some form - I suspect they'll be saved for Southend though.3

Strongly hinted by Murray that George Graham had applied for the job, that would have been a good appointment.Bailey said:
This is probably not helping the discussion, but, yes Dowie was a shit manager, but remember Richard Murray's role in all of this. Richard Murray brought someone in to pick the incoming players and deal with the transfers, Billy Davies turned down the Charlton manager position because of this set up, and that set up didn't change under Dowie, it rather suits a certain individual to lay all the blame at Dowie's door, especially when he was the one who employed him, much to the annoyance and against the advice of fellow directors.wmcf123 said:
He was hugely overweight in the premier league and hardly played. Good in the championship until he wanted to move in January. Talented, yes .TeeC said:
Andy Reid was most certainly not crap. Wonderful footballer. Gets in pretty much any charlton team over the past 20 years.wmcf123 said:
They were all crap apart from Carson too, and yes I include the perennially unfit and overweight, albeit very talented Andy Reid in thatForeverAddickted said:
Didn't Curbs see Murray after that window, and jokingly complain that he never got given those sort of funds? The Red Robin said:
I will never understand giving Dowie more money in one summer than Curbs had had combined pretty much.Bedsaddick said:
Jesus . Two of the worst players ever to put the shirt on . Dowie should have been locked up !Talal said:
Couple of legends at bargain prices what you talking aboutForeverAddickted said:
We had that window under Dowie where we spent a lot... On shitNabySarr said:Is this the most we’ve ever spent in a transfer window? Or do the PL days beat it
We should have kept Dowie as he was slowly turning things around.

Ramsay?Callumcafc said:4 -
I would be surprised if Jonjo would have this done.
He has lived with his condition for many years and as far as I know it never seems to have bothered him.
OK…..I might be wrong but I would be surprised.0 -
A few weeks ago I said that out of all the Luton players leaving I'd have Doughtu above them.all. I was laughed at saying his wages would be too high.Richard J said:
