Would this make us the biggest net spenders in the league so far this summer?
I've heard we are replacing the nets aswell so possibly.

    Ooooohhhh Charlie Kelman’s a SHARK,
    He’ll tear your defence apart,
He’s lurking deep in the dark,
    He’s got that predator spark,
    Charlton’s number 10 is SHARK

    And repeat.......

    I'm bored, I know

Not sure what is surprising me the most, us signing Kelman or you expecting our “yoof” to know Knees up Mother Brown
    One for the oldies.

🎶He know's just how to read the game
And find the net yet again...
    It's Kelman again
    I'm sure it's Kelman again
    Who else but Kelman again
    Of course it's Kelman Again🎶..

Do I need to get me coat...🙄
Perhaps you need to set up a singing area for the over 60's.

All jokes aside, I do always like a nice net change.

A taxi left Sparrows at about 17:30 last night and headed towards Eltham Park Station.
Eltham Park Station that is a blast from the past.
What a nice station it was with its covered walkways. From recollection, the last time I used it was on the way back from Fulham Away.

Happy memories of walking through the station to Eltham Park. We used to see how far we get along the wall without touching the ground. Anyone remember the open air swimming pool in the park? The sun always seemed to shine but the water was invariably freezing.
I used to go out with a girl who lived just around the corner from Eltham Park Station. Spent many a happy day around that area.

Always dark when we went swimming there after the pub. Police usually arrived and invite us to leave.
I was at that very site yesterday, the old cafe and toilets still there. I’m pretty sure they haven’t been cleaned since.

Ah, at last ..... a proper Charlton Life post with a train  :D

I remember well Eltham Park station, and using the Bexleyheath line.
Opened in 1908 and with more impressive adornment, especially to appeal to the more refined prospective buyers envisaged of the new Corbett Estate, then being built around it.

When first opened, superior to other stations on the line, it even had available a 1st class ticket holder facility, plus separate Ladies waiting rooms with toilets.
Even during the late 60s, 70s and early 80s when I knew it, it still retained a faded elegance.

It was closed in 1985 with the widening of the A2 and the building of the new Eltham station across the road from Eltham Well Hall station, also closed at the same time.

Things you didn't know you needed to know - part 3  :)

Year 1/2: Fix the multiple off field issues. Re structure the commercial side of the club. Get the operations running like a proper business. Invest in the pitch and training ground infrastructure.
Year 3: After a promotion re invest the increased TV money in to the squad to back the manage to stay up.

Superb from the owners so far. Proper approach to running a club. All while staying quietly in the background
Maybe the current owners will release their song if we stay up this year. I always thought Thomas went too early with that one. Much more of a year 4 thing after some success.

i think secretly year 3 also involved buying a guitar so I'd watch this space

Yes unless West Brom suddenly sign someone before we confirm him.
  • Surprised at how much we've spent this window - hoping the majority of the signings work out.

Feel pretty confident we'll stay up given how much stronger the squad is.

I think we could have stayed up with the team we had at Wembley, seems that this ownership is very ambitious.

i don't know about anyone else, but all this activity has really made me question our ownership team. Anyone else feel like they are really trying to make us believe they want to succeed or is it all smoke and mirrors  :#

We seem to have more attacking options now. We were pretty solid at the back but definitely needed strengthening up top.

Someone on other forum  saying Knibbs is currently at Sparrows Lane…..

If he’s pulled out of Readings game on Saturday because a fee has been agreed, I’m going to guess he had a medical on Sunday and he’s training with the squad today
One guy on twitter said he was having a medical yesterday actually but I took it with a pinch of salt as it just looked like a fan account with 30 followers.
this guy on twitter @CAfC4701 has been bang on with every signing so far, usually a day or so before.

Knibbs is basically Karoy Anderson but with the ability to score goals.

No chance. There's a big gap between the Championship and L1.
That 11 playing 46 games each would have had a sniff . That squad would have gone down by 10 points
