Surprised at how much we've spent this window - hoping the majority of the signings work out.
Feel pretty confident we'll stay up given how much stronger the squad is.
I think we could have stayed up with the team we had at Wembley, seems that this ownership is very ambitious.
No chance. There's a big gap between the Championship and L1.
personally don’t think the gap is that big. Larger than league one and league two but nowhere near prem and championship. It’s quite possible to get back to back promotions, or at least compete at the top end of the championship first season up.
Even if we don't sign anyone else this window, I reckon we've made so much progress that I'm happy we already have enough to do reasonably well this coming season. I reckon the only guaranteed starters Vs Watford are Jones, Ramsay, Edwards and Coventry. Every other position is pretty much up for grabs, although Kelman, Kaminski, Apter and Olaofe are probably favourites in their respective positions.
Hope the squad gels a lot quicker than was the case last year and we avoid injuries to key players.
So, if we get Knibbs are we something like this (based on last year's formation)...
Kaminski
Mannion
JRC Ramsey. Jones. Bell Edwards
New. Burke A Mitchell. Gillesphey New
Knibbs Coventry.
Anderson. Docherty.
Carey
Berry
Olaofe. Leaburn
TC Godden
Apter Kelman
Ahadme, AMB and Taylor to leave. Kanu, Reid, Z Mitchell, Enslin go on loan
Dixon, Fullah, M'bick wildcard kids around the squad.
Knibbs will play where Carey is, JRC will play where Knibbs is and Apter will play the RWB role with Mbick being an extra alternative to Oloafe and TC.
If we get Knibbs surely it would make sense to loan out both Mbick & Kanu. We'd still have Kelman, Godden, Olaofe, Leaburn + Knibbs who has played as a centre forward + TC & Apter to change the shape slightly.

Think it's better for Mbick to be around the squad and crucially NJ, he can then go on loan either next season or in January

Something like this?
But tbh formation wise I'm still a bit confused about what it'll look like. As an example I thought Leaburn was playing very deep on Saturday, almost in the 10.

He was after he swapped with Mbick, but I doubt we’ll stick with that 3-4-3/3-4-2-1, though it’ll be an option to switch to if needed.
I’m expecting the same lopsided 3-5-2 that looks like 4-2-3-1 in possession as we used in the 2nd half of last season.
Knibbs is an established high end League 1 player who is ready for the championship.
Karoy wouldn't be able to stand out like Knibbs has in League 1 and look as comfortable for 3 seasons in a row, especially with those attacking numbers. Sorry but it's true.
Whether or not Karoy gets better we don't know, but right now he's not even close to him or similar.

you can still compare the two without saying they're identical. I also see a lot of similarities with Knibbs being a much more rounded player clearly

I agree with all your amendments. But think Enslin will also be retained to train with the first XI. He will learn more by staying, same as Fullah.
This feels like the most exciting time to be a Charlton fan since the prem days. It finally feels like we have owners, directors & a management team all pulling in the same direction.

Relentless!
Stand down! Mason Burstow has gone to Bolton on loan.
What this means for Ahadme I don't know....
He carries on going to away games by coach and not getting a game.
Whether we want someone like that at the club is a different matter.
Enjoy the ride peeps. We deserve this
