I want to put it out there that anyone taking a victory lap of 'the other forum' getting something wrong, the poster (who also is a poster here) was correct on Kelman and the Asian link. If you'd rather people not say a word and instead, sit and make tremendously funny puns all day, then carry on swiping. I for one thank Goddenole & anybody else who shares the information they have, whether it materialises or not.
you never know. maybe we were in the throws and finalising Knibbs, got offered Donley (or A.N. Other) and decided that the 1.8m we maight have spent on Knibbs could be better used elsewhere.
Or. CAFC have sought specialist advice on the knee and it’s on ice, the deal not the knee although that too until we have a definitive diagnosis. Probably not and more likely it’s just now dead in the water.
Yeah maybe a failed medical. Kinda hope it is that rather than him turning us down.
I would be very surprised if he failed a medical based on some of the players that have got through the net here even recently.
He's been ever present for 4 seasons, passed medicals with Cambridge and Reading.
Will be interesting to see if we find out more or it will be left there. I hope it's something that isn't completely dead and a deal that can still be made, but that seems very unlikely, not something that happens often in football.
This is tough, that would have been the business of the summer and he was everything we needed in this team, have to hope we have alternatives now
Apparently has a knee issue but yeah gutted about this one falling through, just as everything was looking up.
But come on, Burke is made of glass (already injured) and Bell has just come back from an injury, plus Potts managed to get through a medical.
Even if something did flag up, surely it can be 'managed' like we have done with other players, especially for one that's made almost 200 apps in 4 seasons.
It was all reported that Reading had agreed a fee so it would be cheeky if Reading upping their price was the reason.
Ah well, on with the day, cakes on offer at Tesco, that seems like a good idea for now.
Yes but the other two didn't cost as much.
Yeah true, big fee if there is a risk, but if that is genuinely the case, I would rather we stopped signing players like that full stop even on a free, as players like Burke and Potts wages won't/wouldn't have been cheap.
Just have to hope we have other targets in mind now. The good news is, we have still made a handful of very good signings, and we clearly have some cash to spend still. Fingers crossed we are already lining up the next one.
For my part I am sad it didn't work out as he seems like a player who would have fitted perfectly into the Jones system and added quality and experience.
But based on everything else we've done this summer I can't imagine we don't have another option or plan in the background, and purely from the numbers side at least it won't leave us short.
Wonder if it might be something we'll revisit later in the window if we need to. I doubt it, but if we found something in the medical, and tried to lower the fee... Well if Reading dont find another "buyer" and need the money come the end of the window.

They take the credit when it comes off, so have to take the stick when it doesn’t.
Anyone able to find out if Harvey knibbs is still out on the Colchester pitch running?
No. Unlike others, I stayed on after he was first seen running on the pitch for a while. He did some more runs after everyone else left and collapsed clutching his knee. I was going to post about it on here, but us ITK people get ridiculed too much, so I held back this info.

This has ruined Hawaiian shirt day a bit tbf.

WIOTOS.
It literally could be any number of reasons why this one hasn't happened.
