Jones and Chapple ready to cull the first team squad before our owners realise they have bought far too many players.

  • According to my brother (who happens to live in Tokyo) it is being reported in the sports news that Fukuda to Charlton is a done deal and will be confirmed early next week. Don’t shoot the messenger though!

Considering this has popped up again, I used sofascore to compare Fukuda's last full season in 23/24, to Small's 24/25.

I don't know how the J1 League measures up against League 1 (I'll assume there isn't too much in it) Fukuda measures up very well to Small, in particular his heat map, look how active he is, appears to have more defensive qualities as well.

Not believing this until Linda Fukuda follows the CAFC account
    Spelt and pronounced Linuda

Any idea on what kind of media? Their version of Sky Sports News for instance, or more like a 2 line summary in the Japanese version of The Daily Star?

If things keep going this well, we won't even need to try and sign any fifth choice terrible loanees with minutes to go on Deadline Day....
An honoured Charlton tradition wiped out by these nefarious American upstarts  ;)

Yeah but what will we do on Deadline Day? Lay down and stare at the ceiling?

I don’t think we need him, but Kone not even on the bench for Wycombe today.

He’s not gone anywhere yet has he?
Been quite strongly linked to PNE, so I presume that's in the offing and explains his absence.
That wouldn’t be good - we need Preston to struggle this year

    Off to Swansea

    ...🤦‍♂️
  • Deadline day I'd expect to just be young players on loans maybe the odd fringe player if we don't get a few done this week.

Can't see there being more than 3 ins now and one of those is Bennett.

perhaps there will be no need to nip down the corner shop for some Doritos and Fanta..
  • Samson Tovide joining Luton from Colchester
  • Samson Tovide joining Luton from Colchester
Makes sense stylistically for Bloomfield and gives them a replacement for Elijah Adebayo whilst he rehabs his ACL injury. Tovide and Yates should be a handful in League 1.
  • It does worry me slightly that Lloyd Jones is picking up knocks and his replacement would be Reece Burke who is an international standard 'knock' carrier.

Jones' replacement is probably Alex Mitchell.

    Burke is Ramsay's cover.

If CAFC have taken a punt on a couple of players who are injury prone (no not Knibbs!) then they must believe Dr Will Abbott and Coe have magic hands !

Lay back and think of Charlton!
  • Pleased for Ahadme that he scored a brace but it was a friendly against a National league side and if anyone was being serious about him suddenly being a contender up front in the Championship then give your head a shake.
Hopefully it gets Gassan a loan move to a league 2 club where I do believe in the right team he could be successful.

NJ would need to change his opinion on Ahadme for him to be in a cafc match day 20.

No L2 or most L1 sides for that matter could even afford his wages. Unless Plymouth come in for him there’s no way we can get him off the books. Judging Ahadme off the start of the season where let’s be fair most players weren’t doing well should be considered. Doesn’t mean I think he will be the second coming of Christ but personally think he needs an opportunity in this new system can see he works much better off players like Apter. Even if he’s just average at best giving Kanu and Mbick loans by having Ahadme as cover will be big for their development

    Who ?

Wrexham spending £2m each on Moore and Coady shows we're in a different division now but also the different approaches.

Two proven players but both 32 whereas we have gone for much younger attacking players yet to prove themselves at this level.
The £2m is the cheap part, the wages they’ll be on are far more than any of our lads
No one is going to accept a low pay offer from Wrexham.

  • I ran my Charlton Transfer Whelmometer, and unfortunately it melted...  I miss my Whelmometer!

Good job, too, you needed a new one with the apostrophe in "FUCK'S".
