    Yeah, the barnet gave it away, was either winter 1966 to spring 1967, plumped for '67. :-)

    No, I confess I wouldn't have recognised him - and I've interviewed him face to face at least half a dozen times and wrote his speech for him when he opened the arts centre named after him at Dartford grammar school a few years ago!

    Great pic which I hadn't seen before and typical Beaton that he managed to make him look different from the portraits everyone else, like Bailey and Gered Mankowitz, was taking of him around the time.

    Now I know, I can tell you exactly where and when it was taken - the El Minzah hotel, Tangier on March 15, 1967. According to Bill Wyman's book Stone Alone, Jagger tried to get Beaton to drop some acid with him but I don't know if he succeeded!
