I know we're not a tifo-type club, but if we could turn something around before the weekend, that would be special.

Thought he played like a latter day bobby Moore - he never seemed to be hurried or have to strech his legs - timing his tackles to perfection

Does anyone remember that tackle from him against Chelsea at home? Think it was Hasselbaink about to pull the trigger and he just took the ball off his foot with ease. Class.
Don't remember that but do remember against Spurs (I think) at the Valley, Jorge went for a 50/50 challenge & the spurs player went flying through the air doing a somersault while Jorge moved calmly away with the ball at his feet.

An immense player, how lucky were we to see him at Charlton.

RIP Jorge, taken far too soon  :'(

Oh my days, that's a terrible shock. It's all been said already but what a fine, fine player he was for us and I hope his family and friends can take some comfort in the place in our heart Jorge occupies.

    RIP Jorge.

Massive part of our best time, RIP big tank. The best CB I’ve seen by a mile in our shirt.

Well thats shit, shit news. The man was a colossus for that period of time we had him. Definition of no-nonsense centre half and a really good player too, felt priveledged to have him playing for us.

Rest in peace Jorge Costa, figurative and literal giant of the game

10 days ago, I was on holiday in Lisbon. I was chatting to a local about football. Much of the conversion involved both of us cooing over this collosus of a man. Such a great player. RIP

RIP Jorge, it was a pleasure to see you in a Charlton shirt. I remember you using your body to hold off another player near the corner and said player going flying. A man mountain with no little skill, you made a huge impact in such a short period of time. I was gutted we couldn't sign you permanently. Enjoy your sleep big man.
Think that might have been Darren Anderton when we played spurs. He just bounced off him as if he didn't exist. RiP Jorge, short time with us but so well remembered.

Might have been a last ditch tackle against eidur gudjohnsen in the Chelsea game? I remember he was in a press conference before the game where they asked if he could handle Hasselbaink, and he just said, stone cold, that hasselbaink had never scored when he was playing

I count it a special privilege to have seen Jorge play at the Valley in a Charlton shirt.

An immense presence on the field and truly deserved the nickname of The Tank. He instantly became a hero with the fanbase and had a huge impact on our overall performances in the short time he was with us.

Thanks for the everlasting memories Jorge. You looked like you would last forever but taken at 53 is just cruel. RIP
