    If we're taking it by face value, the winner should be a Portuguese player from PSG given they won the CL, their (admittedly tinpot) league and Portugal won the Nations League this season. 

    Messi and Ronaldo both not on the list, but Messi will still somehow win it, and if not it'll be the new jacked up Wonderboy Yamal instead

    Two years running, former Charlton Academy players have been nominated for the Ballon d'Or. Lookman last year, Russo this year.

    A few of those players are there on reputations or previous performances,  rather than how they did in 24/25. The likes of Bellingham and Haaland for example.
