Looking for the CL hive mind to come up trumps please. After all the fantastic excitement of today, we’re thinking of a nice quiet Sunday in the countryside.
Would welcome thoughts please of villages worth visiting within an hour or so of Greenwich on public transport?

You could do DLR to Lewisham (10mins) and train from Lewisham to Hayes (30mins) then an Uber 15 minutes or so to Downe. Nice pubs and Charles Darwin's house to visit... But I suspect the sum of all those parts will end up being more like 90mins with cross overs and the Lewisham to Hayes train line is sometimes closed Sundays so you would need to check.
Otherwise a train to Sevenoaks which is nice for lunch with some nice shops, then walk/Uber to Knowle Park with Knowle House or Uber to Eynsford which has a nice pub by the river (but always rammed when weekend/sunny). I think Castle Farm lavender fields have all been cut down by now and would involve a separate Uber anyway.
An alternative from Sevenoaks is a walk to Sevenoaks wildlife reserve (but it's probably not worth the bother).
1 hr 44 according to Google Maps.
Yalding - though might be pushing the hour limit
