Avoid Eynesford, used to be decent - but not for some years.
The tiny stretch of river is always filled with dirge and scourge.2 -

Sevenoaks and Knole Park a great option.
Otford decent too.
You could go to Richmond maybe Ham House and/or the park.
If you booked a cab from Borough Green station you could go to Ightam Mote (3miles).

Bit too far out for you - but I highly recommend Arundel for a nice day out. It's about 90 minutes from Victoria (or was when I last checked) and is a lovely place. I considered moving there a few years ago, but it's bloody expensive, unfortunately2

The tiny stretch of river is always filled with dirge and scourge. There has been one of those new dispersal orders brought into force over busy weekends for antisocial behaviour but I don’t know if it’s working.0 -

Yet another place to avoid due to inbred wankers2 -
Most places in Kent (unless they're along the North Kent line or down to Sevenoaks if you go from Lewisham) are a pain in the arse to get to from Greenwich by public transport, certainly not doable within an hour, and the fares cost a fortune. It's the "why don't more people get public transport to The Valley" argument, but in reverse.3

centurion said:Opposite end of London but Amersham is surprisingly doable on public transport in an hour and a very nice spot. Historic pubs and a real country feel to bits of it.Bonus is that it's all on the Metropolitan Line (fast trains from Marylebone to some stations) and within the zones, so all on Oyster/contactless and free for some lucky folk.1

Leigh-on-Sea is doable in about 90 minutes (DLR from Greenwich to Limehouse or Stratford, then direct train) and doesn't have the pisstake rail fares that the Kent coast has. May be a bit busy on a sunny Sunday though.Either that or Downe (and Down House) or Westerham (and Chartwell) via three buses, but that'll be about 90 minutes too and a bit of an epic trip. Certainly doable with a bit of patience, though.Or bin off the idea of leaving London and get the Northern Line to Hampstead. P4 bus from Lewisham to Dulwich Village will drop you off at the Picture Gallery. Richmond is quite villagey (watch for Ted Lasso fans). Or just walk to Blackheath Village.2
