Palace fans embarrassing themselves again

  • Get yourself in one of the beach clubs for the day. Private beach. Waiter service to your lounger and top lunches. It’s a great day if a little expensive.

Better than walking up the big hill to the church at the back of the town

And this is a thread about Palarse embarrassing themselves, not me embarrassing myself…let’s get back on topic.
  • I'm on a horse racing group and a few of the Palace fans call us 'Caravan Dwellers'. Cannot wrap my head around how they think Charlton is in any way as shit as Selhurst/Thornton Heath.
    Neither are the Côte d'Azur...
I’m typing this sitting in Cannes, and can confirm that this is correct.
I was in Cannes in June and I must say that the marina did remind of Norwood Junction in many ways 🚤

  • Was chatting to a Palace fan today and I said "well you're not going down" (because the new rules are that will be Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley) and he was of the view that they might. Sad to say I think he's wrong.

Talking of embarrassment, I was embarrassed by that FA Cup winners flag being waved in front of the Covered End on Saturday - 1947 and 2005.
I thought I'd missed something until I was told that 2005 related to the Women's FA Cup win. Ridiculous.
Yep. I fear this qualifies me as a sexist, misogynistic chauvinist, but I also feel like this.

I also agreed with Joey Barton's comment that the penalties in the Women's Eurofinal "were borderline embarrassing". He's a total arsehole, so I clearly need to take a good look at myself.
If the men could take penalties as well as they think they can, Palar5e might not have won another fecking trophy!

Stop being ar5eholes, women play football, Charlton Athletic have a men’s and women’s team, it’s a flag ffs……….I’ll let you know if it gets flown at their home games too………..🙄
But I don’t support or affiliate myself with the women’s team, who play in a different competition and at a different level (I think - I actually know nothing about the women’s team).

As far as I’m concerned you might as well wave a palace cup winners flag.

    But others do.
If you know nothing about women’s football then carry on ignoring it, why let it bother you? Strange.
It’s difficult to ignore nowadays, which is a shame.
    It really isn’t.
I can’t stand golf, wrestling, boxing, horse racing and formula one. I have Sky and I manage to pretty much ignore them all.
    Amazing? Not really 🤔
We’re not going to agree on this one.

Back to Palace fans embarassing themselves.

There's absolutely no way they're going down because unfortunately they're a pretty decent side with a good manager. Eze will be a huge loss if he goes though but i think they'll still have more than enough to stay up.

I know they've barely signed anyone but they'll still finish 13th-15th even if they sold Eze.

Wolves would be the ones I'd be worried about.

Brentford for me, Keith Andrews very unproven and they've lost Mbuemo
  • I'm hoping that Glasner is sufficiently pissed off with the owners that he leaves with the first good offer. That Palace sell Mateta and replace him with Lyle Taylor, sell Eze and replace with Charlie Kirk and sell Wharton to bring back Ben Watson.  Seems unlikely though.
  • Exactly - they are Croydon. The fake club with the fake history faking where they come from.

Sadly not a hope in hell they will go down.

As well as the 3 you mention, Bournemouth have sold nearly their entire defence and Brentford have lost their manager and some star players.

3 of those 5 will comfortably finish below them.

Jesus, what a load of old victim playing shit. There is minimal differences between the two competitions. If they had been banned from Europe completely then fair enough. That statement is just weird.

I don't understand why there's not more pressure on Parish? He's spent the last month whining to anyone who'd give him a platform about what an "injustice" this is and now CAS have found he was completely incompetent.

  • I work with students. They forget to do something and they suffer a penalty as a result. It's always the same conversation. 'That's not fair'. Sorry, it's in the regs'. 'I didn't know'. 'Probably should have read the regs. You said you did when you signed up'. 'How am I supposed to know?' 'Read the regs'. 'It's not fair!' 'It is though'. This statement is the exact same thing. Deflecting away from the fact they didn't do what they needed to do as outlined by the rules, they gave a piss take email address that they didn't check so they still didn't fix their mistake even when they were reminded and have proceeded the complain UEFA are out to get them for enforcing the rules. It's deflection, in any other business a fuck up like this would have the buck stop with the person who is responsible for making sure the rules are followed properly and the club is able to enter financially lucrative competitions. Parish wouldn't ever blame himself though would he, it's all a conspiracy!

    ..
  • Let’s hope they don’t get any Eastern European teams. They have proper ultras as opposed to a group of blokes that wear black and have a megaphone.

Oh no. I really hope that they actually do get some far away Eastern Europe team with some proper Ultras!

Palace Ultra's will probably send a message via. their Mum's WhatsApp Group, advising no one to wear black, because when the Police start getting involved, they wont want their fans to get confused for the nasty Eastern European Ultras.
