  • I didn't realize that JFH was born in Paramaribo, Suriname.

I did know that he had 7 golden years.
    Leeds 69 apps 34 goals
Atletico Madrid 34 apps 24 goals
    Chelsea 136 apps 69 goals
    Netherlands 23 apps 9 goals
You would need to have your Charlton blinkers on, not to recognise that JFH was a top striker in those 7 years between 97-2004.

Jerrel "Jimmy" was 32 when he left Chelsea and after a spell at Middlesbrough he arrived at CAFC when he was 34 and his career was coming to the end as he had lost his sharpness and looked sluggish by the 06/07 season. CAFC 25 apps 2 goals.
before going to Cardiff for one last pay day in the 07/08 season. Cardiff 36 apps 7 goals.

Just like John Barnes, JFH came to Charlton, in the Autumn(more like winter!) of their careers carrying extra timber.
  • He nor the media will not mention once he played, well sort of for CAFC ..
  • Good we try to erase it from our history.
  • I don’t mind players coming to us at the end of their career. I do mind the pure f*cking laziness when they’re here for a payday. Let’s hope he moves quicker on the dancefloor than he did at The Valley.

17,000 pounds a week . Money for nothing.

Very unfair on John Barnes to even consider making the comparison.

Both signings were exciting to me but JFH left me feeling like I’d been scammed by a bloodsucking fat leech of the highest order. Only Gunter comes close to JFH as my most disliked Charlton player of all time.
  • JFH did not give a toss. Apart of me thinks he almost despised Charlton and just saw it as a pain in the fat ass to turn up to training.

He's probably one of our all time highest paid players. Was it £50,000pw? Roughly speaking

Out of the 2 goals he scored, he decided to not bother celebrating at least one of them.

Regarding big name old age career one season wonders....him Di Canio held different attitudes.

I might be wrong but I doubt we’ve ever played anyone £50k a week or close to it.

One of Cawley’s recent articles mentions Di Canio was only on £10k a week.

To be fair why would they? He made more appearances for 8 other clubs than he did for us.
