  • I can never remember if it is good or bad Japanese deal etiquette to throw sand in the counterparties face. Makes the oppo blink on a stare down though.

Daniel Kanu, and Kai Enslin the next ideal names to head out on loan somewhere... Maybe Ashley Maynard-Brewer to depart on a perm now, but he's already said that he's happy to stick around.

Who else could we yet see depart before the end of the month?
  • Burke must be fit then

Only other one could be a fringe player that decides he wants more football, but the only person that comes to mind is Berry and he seems really happy here and Jones absolutely loves him
  • Wonder if that Duffy rumour had any substance

I reckon you could be right
  • This seems great news re: Burke - suggests he is ready to return.

Wouldn’t surprise me, I think that would mean another loan for Zach.

If Fukada needs to be playing regularly, why would he join us where he would be backup on the right hand side?
He would get his share of starts. Maybe 20 plus 20 off the bench.
Unless Apter is injured, no way would he get 20 starts. Apter doesn't look the sort who's knackered after 60 minutes either.

I doubt he can play the Ramsay RCB role either

I could see us buying him as a punt for the future, the way Brighton bring in players and ease them in gently much later, but that's hardly going to help his World Cup chances next summer.

  • I would imagine burke is close to fitness.. id very very surprised if we signed another cb.. id see burke as someone who can play at cb or RCB very much like mitch. I really like Mitchell, I hope he does well and we see more of hin
  • Wouldn’t have let him go personally unless we’re bringing in another cb.
  • A QPR supporting journo is suggesting they fill their LB weakness with Jamal Lewis. Worth a look? Experienced and played a couple at RB. An NJ type and on a free.
Lewis has dropped off significantly last couple of seasons, alaobdue to a poor injury record.

On his day looks Wigginesque, but on others Sean Clare.

Even if he wasn't a regular starter, he'd be an NJ 'game finisher'.

And that's assuming the Raptor starts each of 46 games and never gets injured.

But first he'd need to get to NJ intensity fitness - and able to run 100 miles in 100 minutes!

I hope we have enough beer and ladies for him
NJ the type of manager to be all over that.

NJ will be fine as long as Duffy doesn't take his birds to the Costa in Bluewater.

Last season we had Macca Jones Ramsay as a back 3 with Mitchell and McIntyre as cover. From Feb onwards they both got 500 minutes between them. Now we have Macca Burke and a 6th centre back in Zach as cover which we didn’t have last season. Think all this talk of injuries is looking at worse case scenario rather than what’s likely to happen. Would have preferred Zach on loan to Alex but I don’t think we’re now suddenly left short it’s not like our back 3 is going to suddenly all get injured tomorrow

Even with Burke injured, who would be first backup in either Ramsay or Jones roles, I still think Gillesphey is ahead of Alex for the central role and Zach Mitchell ahead for the RCB role. So he’s basically 4th choice in 2 roles if everyone is fit. Seems like a good character but I doubt he’d have started any games this season unless we had a real crisis

If Zach leaves as well then we probably need another CB but if not we are probably fine with the 6 we have
  • Pleased to see players going out to get game time, and wish them well.

How many more loan outs to go, Kanu going out might be a mistake, if it takes a while, for Godden to be fit?
  • Think Kanu will be the other loan , Enslin if we get another wingback in. Kanu needs to spend the season playing regularly in L1 if we can.

We've got TC, Kelman, Leaburn and Oloafe all ahead of Kanu, him going on loan is sensible.
Mbick too, not necessarily ahead of him, but on a par I'd say

Could probably loan our Enslin either way if we think Fullah and Rylah can cover wingbacks in emergency’s. TC Bell Costello Ramsay can also play wingback and they will be ahead of Enslin as well

What I know about NJ is that he doesn’t entertain having players who would be potentially disruptive, so I would be more than a little surprised to find there’s anything in it.

We’ll be begging for mercy if we sign Duffy.
I remember being out the night of the London mayoral election in 2008 and that playing when Boris Johnson got in.  I remember thinking back then, what an absolute dogshit song this is
