Buzz cut over the sink, number one for 30 odd years, saved me a fortune 😁0

Ah the joys of being a baldy. I just have to a few mins with my head shaver every few days, job done. Never have to worry about bed hair again.0

I generally can’t be arsed with haircuts, I’m probably 2 weeks overdue added to the fact I haven’t shaved, I look like a hobo.Usually leave it until I start getting the comments from the wife “Are you getting your haircut” which is paraphrased from “You are getting your haircut “2

This thread has handily reminded me that as my girlfriend has 2 grandkids over for a week and I am looking for things to get of the house for, a haircut has to bw on the cards.
Maybe even a cut throat razor shave and hot towel treatment.0 -

I got Wahl clippers on Amazon at the start of COVID lockdown and sat Mrs Fattmatt in front of YouTube to learn a short back and sides. I've not been back to a barber since. 20 quid saved every 3 weeks.0

Think it’s been done on here many years ago, but many a man had to wait with half a haircut as George fucked off next door to have a punt.

The cost is ridiculous these days. Cost £15 to get my 10 year old’s haircut and takes 15-20 mins. For a child it should still me about £10-11 in my opinion. What irks me a bit is that for a tenner more you can spend about an hour in there getting the works. Pointless for him though as he hasn’t got a beard.
Cost about £50 every 4-6 weeks to get the sons and mine done.
Barbers are definitely profiting from the vain generation. Admittedly to it is good to look fresh but I reckon they’re busier than 10-20 years ago.0 -

IMHO £15 is pretty good price, I mean thats less than £20. If thats too much im sure you can do it yourself or find somewhere cheaper. When I lived in London and worked in the city, I would go to jack the clippers and it was close to £40. You get for you pay for IMO.0

I seriously wonder how some of my local barbers make a living when you consider overheads ('scuse the pun) there's so much competition and they're not always busy. According to the London school of barbering:-
As a junior barber, after completing your training, you can expect to earn about £40-£60 per day in salary, and £20 in tips. If you work a 6-day week and 50 weeks per year, this equates to earnings of £18,000 to £24,000. With time and experience, a pro barber can earn as much as £1000 per week or £50k per year.0 -

About every six seven or eight weeks the haircut, and also a hot towel wet shave to go with it, plus eyebrows nose and ears (not pubes).
Also a shoulder massage and a quick hair wash at the end.
I see it as my bit of luxury. They charge £29 for all that but I generally make it £35 with the tip.
Don’t think any of us need to know about your lack of manscaping.0 -
No. 1 all over every six months. Total barber’s bill £36 plus tip per annum.1

I’m another old git who’s got a father Tuck hair cut (you might have to be over 60 to understand that one😀). My wife now undertake the massive one minute job to cut the hair every other week using the 1/2 clipper, save us £12/ visit to the barbers.0

I wonder if Adrian is still visiting every salon in Blackpool, to try & find his old girlfriend.
It must be costing him a fortune in haircuts.3
