I take it Leicester sold out the away end and we kept the tickets on general sale? I have three Leicester fans in front of me, one of which has not been able to keep his trap shut for 45 minutes.

Aside from constantly calling us a shit League One club, he's whinging and whining every time a Leicester player goes down and reckons we should have had three red cards in the first half!

I'm happy for grounds to not be segregated, but I have seen guys like him giving a clout and been dragged out the ground in the past.
  • Expected more from Leicester, thankfully we defended well. Coventry having an excellent game, and Jones his good self. just need a good chance to score

Coventry and Jones have been the standouts for me. TC and Doc also look way better today.
Best performance by Doc for a while and TC more of a threat than Apter so far
  • If this team can fine tune their end product I think they will be dangerous this season that is the only missing piece I see.
  • The team look rock solid -

We just need a touch more composure when the press yields a mistake -

At times leicester looked completely out of ideas -

If the second half is anything like the first 1 goal will sink these - and if we get 1 I think we'll get 2
  • We're working harder than them and getting into decent positions. They can't handle our press. Should be in front, if not for the final ball, and a cracking save from a brilliant strike for Cov.  That was a very decent half from us, against quality opposition. We've made them look average.
  • Decent first half. Better team. Just that lack of quality and decision making in the final third which I think is going to be an issue throughout the season. But as long as we're good enough over the season that's what counts.

It definitely went on restricted sale
  • Decent enough team performance,  the sort of half where everyone gets 6.5 or 7 out of 10, as nobody let the side down,  and nobody stood out.
  • Good first half & on balance of play should be leading. Midfield doing really well winning the ball & setting up atacks. Wide players not doing enough with it but then again we dont have enough men in the box when the ball finally arrives. Probably me but just think a 6ft 6 striker should be winning more in the air.

Putting my faith onto the fact we come on stronger with 15 to go and with the players we can bring on hoping we can get a winner.

  • Do wish TC would try to beat his man more, has the ability but maybe lacking the confidence to do so atm. Wouldn’t mind seeing Oloafe come on, he looked excellent against Stevenage.
  • Bell the stand out for me. Our final ball has been a bit shit.
  • When attacking we certainly need to be a bit braver and try to push more bodies forward. Because at the moment, the ball is going into their box, and its just Leaburn to aim for.
  • Echo all the comments so far, been the better team for sure, lacking a bit of final moment but against a recently relegated Prem side, cant complain too much.

Fancy us to win it in the second half.
  • Leaburn also seems a bit slow with the ball at his feet, has he always been like that?
I mean are there any 6’6 strikers in football who don’t look like they’re running in molasses with the ball at their feet?
  • My Leicester supporting mate is spitting feathers at their first half performance
  • This game looks tailor made for Olaofe to me. Their defence is so slow
  • This game looks tailor made for Olaofe to me. Their defence is so slow
They’ll look even slower after another 20 mins of playing too
  • Defence and midfield been brilliant for me just missing that final moment up front, would like to see Tanto for TC, possibly at HT just cause I think these are there for the taking and he so far looks to be a touch more direct

  • Sounds like we should be getting 3 points here

Their fans seemed to boo them off at HT, which seemed harsh.
  • Enjoying watching with my breakfast ahead of Oasis in Toronto tomorrow. Thought Coventry's shot was in - probably would have been with a league 1 keeper last season.

Main take out for me is that again whatever the final score we look like a regular Champ side who can compete. Thats everything we wanted at the start of the year. Do feel Leicester have those players with quality that could put them 1 up at any moment, but we have had the best of it. Looking forward to the second 45.

Maybe the worst fans I’ve ever seen at The Valley. Absolutely pathetic

Which is better than them being average and us making them look quality
  • We seem to treat our matches like a middle or long-distance race: keep on the shoulders of the oppo throughout and then 20 mins from time we kick on and out-run them.

Hopefully we'll have some end product to go with it.

Few comments from twitter... All complaints along similar lines, saying they should be doing better against a newly promoted club, no real credit towards us so far.

Nowhere near good enough first half, you lot not been in control at all

Absolutely dreadful I have no clue what Martis tactics are what he promised I have not seen we are just a terrible team and it’s awful again against another poor team this is going to be a long season of really poor football.. tell me what Martis tactics are please

Playing with 9 men out there. Skipp and Soumare the 2 worst players in the division… honestly they don’t track back and provide any cover defensively, they can’t keep possession and they can’t create a thing… So ehay the fuck are they for? Ahahah

Another utterly embarrassing half, you cannot have 0.09 xg against a newly promoted side, none of them care actually none of them look interested, both the centre backs again look clueless and ayew might as well not be there, we will lose this 1-0 in the last minute
  • If you want to get all technical, Opta gives an xA data point for the 2 games so far:

Apter is top of everyone in the league so clearly he's been able to create chances in the games so far, even if they haven't results in any official assists.

Tyreece Campbell is down at 0.30 xA. Sonny Carey is at 0.03 xA (below Leaburn, Coventry, Bell, Edwards and Docherty)
  • Sounds like we should be getting 3 points here
Oh don't say that you'll jinx it...
