Play like that every game and you win more than you lose.
Keep the faith
By not scoring?
Rest assured, you're not alone feeling disappointed that we lost. Everyone is. You may be alone if you couldn't see anything positive in the performance though.
I thought on another day we run out clear winners, HOWEVER, TC needs to up his game at times, too many wayward passes, Carey needs to look up occasionally, and Jones needs to be more proactive with subs. Knibbs and Kelman were stripped off at 68 mins and came on at 75 mins, we faffed about for ages and you could see the lads out there were struggling. I would have made a sub or two on the hour mark personally
When we had the time out in the 2nd half when their keeper went down, personally I would rather Nathan speak to our players during this period and forget the 4th official for just 60 seconds as it's really pointless.
Everyone knew this day would happen when we just can't score. It's a step up for all our forwards and midfielders but I'm confident we will be fine when we adjust to the higher quality of the Championship.
Was it a blood injury for Ramsay? Seemed the ref wanted the trainers on but Kayne wanted to play on to defend the corner. Then the fuckwit played on for at least a minute before he waved KR on.
And the gullability for blowing every time they fell over.
Watching Sky and watched the clock on the Ramsay incident. 30 secs near enough. 32 at a push.
Same for the Edwards head injury in the 2nd half. Off for around 30 secs.
Campbell isn’t direct enough and still seems a bit more interested in drawing a foul than getting a shot or cross away. Kind of reminds me of Lloyd sam a bit, a headache for a defender, yes, but needs a bit more.
He does seem to be the weak link.
I would go as far to say he was the worse player in the team.

I bow to your sky subscription but where is the logic and the rules? Especially as the ref banished him to the sidelines at a corner.
Start Tanto and Kelman midweek and see what they've got as a strike pairing. Still have concerns about TC even with the good comments from Bristol City fans last week , Tanto and Miles could be a fun pairing to think about until the sniffer dog is back .
Also on Campbell, where is support? Can't remember an Edwards overlap this season, nor anybody showing infront of him early in his possession. Very few in the box, so not many pass opportunities.
I think a Fullah type at 10 will move into spaces to receive the ball and help him.
He is a paceman who needs targets after beating his man/men . Best on the break, but our CMs aren't quick enough to support him.
Apter is a different animal. He can bugger about on the wing keeping two defenders occupied until we get bodies in the box and he delivers a cross.
Its not about one player being crap, its about creating a system to play to strengths.
We win that 3 - 0 on another day. I feel frustrated with the result but not the team because everyone played well. Leaburn was imperious and won everything in the air, Doch and Cov responded to criticism with two outstanding performances, Jones was excellent and would make a decent striker at a lower level... everyone was good.
(I will say, having defended Kelman recently, he annoyed me today. He came on with fresh legs and walked around the pitch).
And while we do have a lot of athleticism in the final third, we're lacking class and quality. We have a tendency to panic and snatch at things.
But I can't be displeased because if we keep playing like that, we'll do well.
I must have watched a different game as I didnt see Leaburn win much in the air at all. Expect more in the air from someone supposedly 6ft 6.
Seriously? He won nearly everything in the air.
I think there’s confusion here. Leaburn wins lots of balls but he often does so without even jumping. If he jumped well then he’d get more of a downward header and/or more controlled header. I find him quite frustrating in this respect. For all those who big him up: what are his assist and goal statistics. Just like his Dad he is so overrated by our general support base.
Few comments that Louis Mendez has posted on twitter.
Nathan Jones: "We were dominant. It took a 1 in a million strike to win the game for them. We had so many opportunities. If we got one I think we'd have gone on and won it. That's the lesson. That was the only difference."
"It's hard to be disappointed with the level of performance because if that was 5-1 (to Charlton) it would have been a fair result."
"The disallowed goal is... I could get myself in trouble...an absolute travesty. I don't get it. What they see. And then there was an honesty in our play that they didn't have because that led to their goal. I'm disappointed but I'm so proud."
"If that's our level, then I'm excited about what we can achieve this season."
We are starting to work through the gears. Very early days and very encouraging signs. Chance creation excellent, defence solid again (even considering the wonder strike which would have beaten any keeper in any league) while we actually got more control in that midfield today than I could have reasonably expected. Coventry may have hit 7 elsewhere, ours a 9 for me - absolutely immense!
Frustrating result but lots of positives to take from that performance. We dominated a team that's come down from the Premier league for large periods of the game.
The fact their keeper was man of the match & our team were clapped off at the end despite losing speaks volumes.
We'll play much worse than that & win games this season.
Another day, another ref and we would have at least had a point out of a performance like that.
I doubt Fatawu could repeat that superb strike if he had that opportunity in the next match, he hasn’t in the last year or so. Sometimes football throws up these freak goals from teams that seem average at best.
But we only have ourselves to blame for this result. Not really wanting to single out players but if you have 2 clear headers at goal, you should have one of them aimed lower than the crossbar. 20 shots at goal and no goals to show for it is poor performance from us up front and let’s the hard work of the whole team down.
Did not deserve to lose today, Campbell won’t come up against many players like no 17 so not gonna go to hard on him , would like to see tanto from the start, on to qpr
Way I see it we’ve played 2 teams who on paper are competing for top 6 the 3rd expecting to finish top half/midtable. We’ve dominated 2 and probably the team who looked more likely to win the 3rd with a young squad . All our signings bare Kelman and Burke (7/9) already looked settled in the team. Were 3 points above the drop zone and defensively look solid whilst likely having the cheapest wage bill in the division. We’ve given great opportunities for our younger players and fringe players to develop and build value. You told me this was going to be the case when the full time whistle blew at Wembley I would have laughed
Fatawu's goal was brilliant, but it ain't like he's scoring them every other week. Our efforts blocked and saved - with their goalie making man of the match.
FoxesTalk is full of pain, misery and the need to rebuild tonight - ours is of hope and optimism despite the result. Football is a funny old game. As for the match itself I thought this Leicester fan summed it up nicely on FoxesTalk.
Great performance. Thought the high press was excellent, kept possession in midfield, keeper had very little to do, always looked forward and didn’t seem like the opposition had much of a threat. Could’ve had three or four easily.

Just not true. Against Watford not only was Edwards fouled in the box against Watford when he was the furthest forward but TC decided to have a shot when Josh was again to his left free in the 2nd half. First half he had Baah in his pocket and obviously that was his main objective.
We had 41 touches in the box against the foxes and on another day cafc would've had a hatful. I'm more confident today that we will be mid table. Disappointed that Apter was taken off and not TC but it's Nathan's gig. TC had a decent game until the business end of the match.

31 goals in 94 games and he’s still only 21 and spent chunks of time out injured which have slowed his progress.
At the same age Godden was regularly going out on loan in non-league.
Well I'm taking this as an early sighter. We lost early on to Reading last season. Really taught us a lesson or two and we went on to better and brighter things

15 or 16 assists as well I think, that makes it roughly 46 goal contributions in 94 games or just ever so slightly under 1 in 2.
If that's overrated then I have to wonder what would be considered an actually good player.
Our current “shot conversion rate” after three games is 2.5% (40 shots taken, 1 goal).
The lowest rate across all 24 teams last season was 8.4%. The season before it was 7.8%. We could have scored 3 from 3 and still be behind the lowest rate across 48 teams the last two years.
It’d have to be going some to continue to scoring at such a pitiful rate. The chances will start turning into goals soon.
Stats can be deceiving though because honestly I feel like today we unfortunately just come up against a brick wall of a goalkeeper who was never gonna concede
People so quick to jump on our players backs. A lot of our players are still a little inexperienced and finding their feet at this level, but they are playing well. We created enough chances today and I think as confidence grows, the goals will start coming
