Did you visit the Museum this summer?

Did anyone on here visit the museum over the summer, either on a Friday or post-Watford and Leicester?  What did you think? Was it what you expected?

We know Jonesy and Lenny Glover did but how about you?

  • Well worth a visit.

You just need to record the donators better 😉
  • I did thanks for asking. Remember being a bit unimpressed by the FA Cup Medals if I was honest, I was expecting something more akin to Olympic size jobs and not Tuppence sized ones, but I supposed rationing was on. Overall impressed with how much you fit into limited space.
  • Still never been . Will try to get there at some stage this season .

Fair point, it has been changed now so you are immortalised

Nothing we can do about the FA Winner's medals size, it is the same now but that's why at play-off finals etc now players get two medals, one bigger one that shows up better on TV.

    ....excuses, excuses!,
  • Not really an answer to your question: not yet, but I’m coming over for the Swansea game on November 1 (possibly going to be International Fan’s Day) and will be coming in on the Friday.
  • I did late last season and will come again in a few weeks time. Every time I go there is always something new to see. It gets better and better. I wonder how much archived stuff (like programmes/shirts/tickets etc) is now held by the museum behind the scenes ? Must be a good amount now, and this truly does protect our clubs history going forward.

    Wonderful place.

I certainly did, loved every minute of it. But, I have to say a couple of things that 'The club' could do better with regards to the museum. Firstly, if I have this wrong please correct me, I cannot find any reference to the Museum on the official website, I have gone into 'club' and there is a number of links but none for the museum. Secondly, I knew the museum existed but I didn't know where it was, I can't see any directions to the museum. Lastly, and this is an observation and a wish, Charlton Athletic Museum should be part of any future visitors centre, I understand the constraints with planning and not owning the ground but we have a fan zone and at some point in the future I would like to see the museum brought into a more accessible area, I might be remembering this wrong but isn't Man Utd's museum on the corner of old trafford? The museum is and should be part of the clubs presentation and should be part of any visitors centre. Apart from that, it's bloody brilliant and made me feel proud to be a Charlton supporter, well done to all.
It is on the OS but well and truly tucked away.

We are also in constant communication with the current owners, who are very supportive btw, about future plans & activities.

Lastly, without the fans we would be lliterally nothing - so a massive THANKS TO EVERYONE!
