    Just phoned Sky for the usual jousting exercise. 

    Got the usual bollox about being a valued Diamond customer and was then told by young Syad that my contract was quite a bit older than him.  Cheeky sod!  :)

    When someone says “ I started my first proper job 10 years ago yesterday” 

    When I know at 57 I retired from my last proper paid job 10 years ago last month! 

    Now having completed over 12 years as a volunteer in school and 15 years of Therapy dog work I’m dreading what I’ll do when I really pack up work 🤷‍♂️

    Start to feel really old then…..would be my guess…………

    A good routine can combat all except the very worst hangovers. 2 pints of water a berocca and a strong anti-histamine before bed. Rehydration sachet, coffee and more water with a nice carby greasy breakfast and you'll be fine other than a bit of tiredness.

    I never felt bad after having vaccinations when I was younger!
    But I had my flu and Covid shot yesterday and I crawled into bed, fell asleep at 7.30pm and woke up this morning at 7.30am with two sore arms and still feel tired.

    I mentioned the word threadle today in conversation. 

    My daughter immediately convulsed in laughter saying her mum-in-law uses the word and it always makes her and her husband laugh. 

    I said (in my defence) you threadle a thread through - it's a verb - in fact we used to lace up old leather footballs using threadlers!

    We then consulted the internet and quite frankly the internet is a sham with just three references  :/



     I mean, I know I'm knocking on a bit, but I'm sure the word was common at some point of my life.

    Why would there be any more than three? Before you threadled it onto this discussion there were only three living people in the world that knew the world, and they are all in your family 😉.

    Seriously though, don't dictionaries only give fresh examples when they show new uses of words (either meaning or context). Unless the use of a word has changed a lot we shouldn't expect lots of examples, because it's all pretty much the same.

    At the very least you'll have a checkpoint to see if you've actually taken your medication.
