I have a feeling NJ doesn't know the best combination to play up front yet.
agreed .. Nathan's signed 2 quite expensive (for us) strikers yet is selecting last season's duo .. also, i m o playing both Campbell and Apter out wide is a luxury .. Nathan seems to be stuck with a defensive mindset yet plays with 2 'wingers' .. Rankin-Costello, who has shown little so far with limited chances, should be brought in on the left as a 'compromise', i.e. cover for Edwards and to replace Campbell, who as ever, flatters to deceive
You want to play someone who plays as CM or RWB as a striker?
according to R-C and his profile he is a 'play anywhere' all rounder .. AND I didn't say as a striker ..  read carefully, I used the term 'compromise' to provide much needed support/cover for Edwards and as support for the striker(s), services which i m o Campbell fails to provide .. we are not scoring goals and have started to concede, change is needed
Started to concede it’s been 1 game the only problem we have at the moment is putting the ball in the back of the net
get yer abacus out lol .. were you watching on Saturday ? ..3 conceded as  well as the 'back ups' conceding 3 at high flying Cambridge .. total in 3 games =7, defo NOT 1
Don't get why people include the Cambridge match as the defence for that game will never appear in a Championship fixture.

Doesn't bode hugely well for Olaofe if we're trying to bring in another quick right footed forward who we want to cut in from the left.
It’s not happening only RWB will be arriving today

Or does it mean Godden is out longer than anticipated?
No doubt it, sounds like he’ll be back this month.

This feels more like one of those players you take on loan as it’s too good an opportunity to turn down?

And the worst of the two defensive midfielders in that game was the one he is arguing should replace TC

Charlton Athletic have launched a late transfer window enquiry to Derby County over the possibility of signing winger Joe Ward, Football League World can exclusively reveal, can play right side defensive role

I know it's FLW but I do find this more believable than Fofana

I also don't fully believe NJ when he says one player, remember the club were saying we'd only make 6/7 all window. My guess is he's confident we'll get one but he wants more

Looking at the xG, after 4 championship games we have the 4th best defensive record in the league. We really haven’t conceded that many chances, especially across the first 3 games Kaminski barely had to make a save

Derby have got too many players to register in their squad, so probably looking to offload a few today. They’ll be desperate so we should be in a good negotiating position

Ward would fit the RWB cover, but tbh I always thought he was a good league 1 player, not sure he’d be great in the championship

Not the best recruitment if we’re having to get a striker in on deadline day because the ones we’ve signed early have been deemed not good enough

Sounds like our kind of player then.

Hey Crispylimp !  What planet are you on - Our defence was shocking midweek and against QPR it was woeful that second goal we conceded was terrible a run from the halfway line !!!

If we're including the CAmbridge game then we have to also count the three goals v Stevenage which means 6 goals this season

NJ ruled out signing another striker not that long ago.

Ward would be an interesting one. Derby let Kane Wilson go to MK Dons over the weekend who is more of an out and out RWB.  Wonder if this might need them to bring someone in first.

Or maybe he has seen the current players are not up to it, and we need bit more power and speed!

He did, but I think the signing of Fofana is too good to turn down.

Maybe, although I personally doubt he's given up on his new signings that quickly. If we need more power, it's in our midfield pairing that are losing the majority of their duels.

I can only see outgoings making any difference and Jones has stated that the position required should have been addressed last season, that can only be the right wing back as we played a left footed Thierry Small in that position.

This. I'd rather target another CM option than a striker when we've got quite a few options that can play up top.

I'd still be worried about not really having anyone that can do the Coventry role

On outs, it's worth remembering that NL loans can happen after today. So if we don't see Rylah, Hobden etc. leave then that doesn't mean they won't

    Derby fans on Joe Ward.

  • Lookman linked with Spurs and Bayern.
    Not Charlton?
Not sure he would get in our side anyway
  • Just missed out on Isak it seems  :/
