  • Can honestly say I’ve never worn a flat cap in my life 😆
There's not much room on a flat cap for a 'D'.

Let’s me honest a lot of Charlton fans have Millwall mates and Millwall fans have Charlton mates …. It’s funny none of us have Palace mates.
Opposite for me, I don't know anyone who supports Millwall, and anyone I have known to support them has been an absolute wally.

I have a good friend who's Palace and absolutely sound, also another mate who is alright that's Palace.

No one supported Millwall in my year group at school that I know of (Woolwich Poly) and I have only met less than a handful across multiple jobs. Met a fair few Palace fans through work.
  • I think the area that is mixed the most is Eltham. From what I’ve heard from friends and family who live there I’d that it’s pretty much split 50/50 Millwall Charlton.
    You are correct.

The only way to tell who is who is by counting how many teeth they have.
  • Looks like I'll have to get the train on Saturday.

    A little nervous about that
  • Oh I’m getting it from all angles tonight aren’t I 🤣

been told by a millwall mate (no really, he IS a mate) that there could be upto 500 of their fans in the home area!
    Fuck em
Does look in the west that no a lot sold in the block around the away bench but the end block has a load sold which is weird

I note that you only deny wearing a flat cap, not the rest of the description.
  • I think the “Charlton fan” in that vid is actually a nigel.

I find it bizarre that any one has palace as our main local rivals , it will always be the scum .
Only reason i can think of is we have too many Bromleyites in our support and they mainly suffer with an identity crisis .

I don't think it is viewing Palace as our main rivals, it's more about despising them as a plastic club from Surrey with plastic fans who think they are South London - and also the way the Stripey C*nts treated us when we played at Shithurst.
There are only two proper South East London professional football clubs and that's us and, I agree, the flat cap wearing wankers from Bermondsey, who are our only rivals.
Only the spanners are originally from north of the river. So there’s only really one.
My dad always hated the SE London deserters - Arsenal.

No it's weirder than that. He's Eberechi Eze's cousin so he just supports whoever Eze plays for. I think he's said he grew up near Charlton though

I’m Bexley Borough and don’t think I’ve ever been through Brockley in my life. Guessing it’s past Lewisham way, but wouldn’t be able to pin it on a map. Surprised we have fans that way.

I know this got a lol but it’s true. He was on the last couple of series of Fantasy Football League with Elis James and Matt Lucas.

I would have assumed it was Millwall as it's next door to New Cross. Though I'd say it has more of a Dulwich Hamlet vibe to it these days!

  • I travelled from Sydenham for the playoff final and there was lots of Charlton getting on at Honor oak park and Brockley which really surprised me.

There are lots of Charlton fans everywhere, particularly all over London, the number of fans getting a train at Charlton station after the game to travel back towards town either to go on or to change trains and come back to SE London is a demonstration of that and that’s just the ones that made it along to that particular match.

Had this conversation on here lots. Some do, some don’t. The majority do though I would say. You might hear or see Millwall fans saying they don’t care for Charlton but they won’t be speaking for all of us.

It seems to change quite a lot in relatively short distances around here. I live a bit further south in Forest Hill and it's pure Palace with a hint of Wall and basically no Charlton at all. Just up the road in Brockley I regularly see CAFC shirts on the street, particularly among kids.

People are obviously spreading out more than ever though. Growing up in Oxted in Surrey I knew one other Charlton fan in a school of 2,000, but when catching the train there for Wembley there was a sea of Haddock – must've been 30 odd, totally bizarre. Wondered where they all were when we were outnumbered 50:1 by Nigels throughout my whole childhood! Nightmare.

Yeh it's basically just a bit of Lewisham like Hither Green. Not much there so not surprised, just houses. There are lots of Charlton fans who get on the train at St John’s station on matchdays. It’s obviously more naturally Millwall and would say it’s the western extent of our “reach” of any kind, but it’s very close and quick to the Valley (I likely wouldn't live there otherwise!)

Anyone who says they don't care is lying. Probably the games that both sets of fans looked for first when the fixtures were released and i'd guess that both games will probably be the quickest sell outs of away allocations all season. I think you lot sold it out before the season had even started.
