Maybe I missed a post on this already but did anyone spot the second ex Addick on the pitch in this game?

Proud day for Konsa and Charlton - it was always known he would excel!

Watched in a sports bar in Italy. Sure I heard Charlton mentioned once on the commentary - Veljkovic maybe explains that as don’t think it was Konsa related.

Excellent performance from England - if somewhat unexpected. Hope our Addicks take note for Saturday.

England currently hold the biggest points lead (7) of any European team in qualifying.

A win in Latvia next month guarantees at least a playoff berth. Follow that up with a draw or better against Serbia at Wembley in November and we’ll be in the draw in December.

Over 90 minutes that may be the best England performance in a crucial game in many years.

5-0 away to Serbia is a serious result. Can’t argue with anything about tonight’s performance
  • Enjoyed watching that - decisive passing and movement.

Great performance from England last night. What we've been waiting for.

He played 3 games 10 years ago, during a time where we had a ridiculous turnover of players, so quite easily forgotten.
  • Must admit ,I never saw this performance coming after the recent crap. Some of our so called super stars, currently not available, should have to wait for their places.Morgan Anderson and Mandueke should not be left out after the way they played last night.Surely Konsa and Ghueli must be the twp central defenders.

I wasn't bothered about the Senegal game, it was a stupid game to play as it was the final game of a long season and totally pointless. But despite winning the group games, It was clearly worrying in terms of performances. I think last night was an important game for Tuchal as it completely moved the dial. Serbia are not the best European side but they are decent, especially at home. I didn't think a defeat was impossible before the game.

I was ready to be critical of England but even before we scored, I was happy with our play. And through the game, it was a great performance. Maybe Serbia showed us too much respect but England can continue boring their way through the group as they have shown when they need to step up they can. Tuchal will not feel under any pressure now for the next few games anyway. I think when a manager is under pressure, so are the players so it is a good thing leading to the World Cup.

Anderson did really well and has a great chance now to keep his place in the side, but i'm sure that if he is fit, Saka will come in for Madueke.

We have some good competition for places now though. I think the only players probably guaranteed to start if fit are Pickford, Rice, Bellingham, Saka, Kane. Probably Stones as well, but now Guehi/Konsa have done well i'm not so sure.
